After having waited 3 months for a referral and another month to book an appointment, Dr. Smith had cancelled an appointment the hour prior due to a "family emergency". It also happened to be a beautiful Friday... His receptionist had booked me for the following Monday though I had a previously scheduled appointment. She became quite rude and would not allow the opportunity to speak and would keep cutting me off and refused to allow me to speak to Dr. Smith or have him return my call. I wrote a letter to Dr. Smith regarding her behavior and lack of class, manners and social skills which I believe she received and responded directly under his name dismissing me under his care... Doctor/Patient relations are very important, but so is being treated with dignity and respect.

You would be hard pressed to find another doctor who listens to your concerns/complaints seriously without dismissing them. He is good at referring you if necessary not to any specialist but to a great specialist.I wouldn't trade him for a clinic doctor, even if he isn't available for holidays. I admire the fact that he has not given in to closing his practice to join a clinic, he is dedicated to personal care. I also think his receptionist is very efficient.

He is a good doctor and tries to get to the base of the problem. Although he is very punctual, and it's always easy to get an appt., he never seems to have time to sit and listen. Both he and his receptionist could use lessons on social skills since both always seem to be in a bad mood. Also if he's on vacation, he doesn't work with a pool of doctors so there is no back up or after hours clinic. He's situated in a good location where you don't have to pay for parking however you get dinged with a yearly fee that seems to increase every year.

Very competent doctor. Knows his stuff in all areas of medicine. Also found him open-minded to prescription meds/drugs that have been shown in studies to help out in whatever circumstances. Has a very solid referral program as he is well known in the medical community. Only downfall is like others stated, which he has no time for any extra questions you may have. Clock is ticking when you're there. But at least he knows his stuff. Non-existant bedside manners to me is a small price to pay in exchange of his knowledge of the medical field.

Always on time, true, but doesn't always have the time to adequately respond to a patient's questions. The receptionist is not very helpful.

No bedside manner. Obsessed with his time and has none to answer any questions. Asked one question and he broke into a loud tirade that he didn't have time to answer questions.

he really care about our health and i can always have a appointment very fast when i'm sick, last week i call at 11h30 and by 1pm i had my appointment and on the road to recovery, not to many dc are like that, i would not change my doctor , cause we don't find good one like this now

Dr. Smith really cares for his patients. Always has the solution to my problems and explains very well what's going on. I would recommend to anyone. He is the best.

One would have to look very hard & long to find a doctor as dedicated to his patients as is Doc E.J. Smith

In it only for the money! Counts every minute and every question asked. Will literally stop you mid-sentence if you've used up your time! Many patients are leaving him as he has lost sight of his values.
