Worst decision of my life. I went approx 10 years ago for the removal of fat under my chin. He removed the fat but the skin did not tighten, I went back and was dismissed as 'give it time'. Well 10 years later it is just a mass of baggy skin, way worse than if I hadn't had anything done. I saved a long time for this procedure, very disheartening.

My appointment was for 9 am. I waited until 9:50 to see this doctor. I am busy with appointments and also parking is very expensive downtown. He came to see me and when I questioned his tardyness he answered pertly that he had already talked to 19 other doctors and had other patients. My impression was I was not important enough for him to be on time. He had better more important issues. There is no problem with his attitude now for me. I have a new doctor and will never darken his doors again.

I was nervous about my procedure but once I was in there Dr Lycka and his staff made me feel relaxed. Dr Stephanie was wonderful! I would not hesitate to go back.

Most unprofessional treatment by a “professional” in my 71 years. His manner borders on elder abuse. He is rude, disrespectful, condescending, arrogant, and uncaring. After waiting half an hour for my appointment (which was changed, for his convenience, by his staff) he breezed in with not so much as a greeting, lectured me before I could even try to explain my problem, barked at the wonderful nurse who was doing her best to help me, and left. In the 5 minutes he was in the examining room, he referred me to another specialist (self-feeding industry) and when I tried to expla in I was going to be out of the country until April so not make an appt until then, he cut me off with a lecture about the exorbitant cost of medical care in the US. (No news to me, but I’m not going to the US. Totally irrelevant anyway, I just wanted to make sure the referral wasn’t scheduled while I was away.).Had such a bad experience here I read the google reviews all the way home on my phone. Should have checked them sooner, could have saved the $15 parking fee and the awful experience with this man. On the upside, the nurse who handled the bulk of my appointment was super friendly, professional and helpful. Dr. Lycka would do well to follow her example in dealing with patients.

I've been going to Dr. Lycka’s for microneedling for my acne scarring for about 4 months now and had a scheduled appointment this afternoon. As I was checking in the receptionist told me that they cancelled my appointment and how they called all 3 numbers on my file (my cell, direct number at work and my mothers cell) not one of those numbers had a missed call or a voicemail from Dr. Lycka’s office. Another receptionist (who was extremely rude and very unprofessional) went on saying how she was the one who personally phoned all of those numbers when she very well did not otherwise I would have received at least one notification had she tried phoning “all 3” of the numbers on my file. Not only did I book an afternoon off of work which is now a complete waste, I’ve also wasted a ton of money on these procedures that barely work. I will never go back to this office and I highly recommend that others search around for another dermatologist before considering his office. They are extremely rude, unprofessional and over charge way too much.

I had a pre cancerous spot froze off my forehead 1 yr ago it is still good, I had mohs surgery done on my calf surgery went smoothly also still good large 2cm area, I wish I lived closer for follow up but alas I do not, and had conflicting local doctors advice so have a scar from not following Barry's recommendations.
I now am going back for a Mohs surgery on a basal cell nose cancerand I know it will be dealt with and am looking forwards to a full recovery like my past two treatments

Dr Lycka does not take the time with the patient at all neither listens to their concerns. Barely looked at my area of concern, never explained anything and pretty much walked out. Pushing treatments of his choice that may not work for the patient due to other life choices, not providing alternate options and not answering the concerns of the patient. One of the worst experiences at the dermatologist office i ever had..Maybe if i was getting a lipo that pays the big bucks his tune would change... not going back.

Staff in his reception area are DREADFUL, and he barely spends 2 minutes in the room. Hardly spoke with me the whole time, just barked his orders to his nurse who did all the work. Will NEVER accept a referral to this practice again.

I visited Dr. Lycka's office for acne problems. He entered the office in a rush, spent about 2 minutes with me, prescribed an antibiotic and told me to make a follow up appointment. I asked about the average cost of one of the cosmetic treatments in his brochure, was told I'd need to make another appointment. I booked a follow up appointment for my acne with his receptionist, as he had asked. Later I called to cancel it and told the receptionist that I was not pleased with being brushed off by Dr. Lycka. I later received a nasty letter from Dr. Lycka saying something like "good luck in finding another doctor who will put up with my questions". WOW! So unprofessional. I really should have forwarded the letter to the College of Physicians and Plastic Surgeons, and regret not doing so. If you don't mind minute-long appointments so he can get an many people through his doors as possible, and feeling like cattle, do see Dr. Lycka. He's not there for you, just your money. The Dr. Lycka on his TV commercials is not the Dr. Lycka I met. Don't be fooled.

Be prepared to be brushed off on a nurse practitioner after waiting 45minutes past your appointment time. Apparently, this is to be "expected" Go to another dermatologist who will actually see you. Was told I had cancer then waited 1 1/2 months to find out the tests were negative, nice.
