I was in serious need of a nose job and had a rhinoplasty done by Dr Zakhary. She told me up front that she could not totally guarantee the result because a lot of it depends on how I heal, but in the end my result was outstanding. It changed my life. This is what I learned that can hopefully help the readers - so many rhinoplasty surgeons claim to be the most talented, the best way to judge is to ask to see before and after pictures. However, the "after" pictures have to be at least 6 weeks after the procedure. By then, a lot of swelling is gone and you see a real result. I visited 3 plastic surgeons in Calgary, and none of them were willing to show me as many pictures as Dr Zakhary. She has done so many rhinoplasties. I chose her and I was not disappointed at all. I Highly recommend this doctor if you are looking to get a rhinoplasty.

Dr. Kristina Zakhary's response
Thank you for your kind review. We are always happiest when our patients are happy and pleased with their results. It is my goal to try to give you a positive experience from initial consultation to final follow up appointment. I agree with you that viewing before and after photos is a key part of your decision making process since it will give you an idea of the surgeon's work and results. It is also encouraged to ask as many questions as you can in order to feel confident and comfortable when you are making your decision to proceed with surgery. Thank you again for your kind words.

I am beyond happy with my results of Rhinoplasty having had the procedure done in November with Dr Zakhary. I had incredible insecurities with my nose from prior injuries - though even before those incidents I was never incredibly confident about my nose. Dr Zakhary is the sweetest person and incredibly above & beyond available & helpful. As her patient she made me feel secure and assured, even in moments I was panicky & probably a pain. She is thorough, available & knowledgeable. She offers her suggestions and deeply listens to your concerns. I highly recommend her.

I can breathe again!
No idea how people are claiming she is unprofessional or that rates are too high. In my experience, Dr. Zakhary is kind, skilled and has the best bedside manner. She explained the process of addressing my breathing problems and crooked nose and was nothing but fantastic during the entire process. Once I finally went in for surgery, she took the time to sit with me and explain in detail all the steps that would be taken along with common concerns and questions that I was probably going to have. Afterwards, she personally followed up with me to see how I was healing. I can happily say that I can breathe again and have a new lease on life. Thank you, Dr. Zackhary! 10/10 Highly recommend!

Greatest Bedside Manner ... a rare and essential quality even in "modern" medicine. Dr Zakhary is also very precise, I love the fine work she did on my eyes. From start to finish she was an amazing doctor, I felt confidence in her and her capable hands.

Dr. Zakhary is incredible. Her staff are superb and I felt supported through the entire process. I always felt comfortable and welcomed when walking into the office. From the beginning, Dr. Zakhary was upfront about potential limitations of the rhinoplasty procedure and thorough in explaining what the surgery and healing process would look like. I'm glad I knew that patience was key to seeing the results I wanted. Over a year out from the surgery and I feel so amazing. My nose is beautiful and I get to celebrate the way I look every day. My life has improved in so many other ways, so if anyone is seriously considering rhinoplasty surgery, get it, and get it with Dr. Kristina Zakhary. Best doctor I've ever had.

If you're considering a cosmetic surgery procedure, but worried about your surgery leaving you looking disfigured or “plastic,” you're not alone. I held off on getting blepharoplasty for years to address the unsightly bags under my eyes but worried about the end result being even worse...

Well needless to say I wish I had found Dr. Zakhary and her amazing clinic team sooner!

Not only will her staff immediately put you at ease with how friendly, professional, and organized, but you can tell just from being in the clinic's atmosphere that you've found a great location.

And then of course there's Dr. Zakhary. The only way to describe her approach is part architect and part artist. After hearing my concerns and desired results, she took her time to answer my questions and then explain the best approach for achieving my desired results.

But it doesn't stop there, even on the day of the surgery you can just tell from how assesses your facial structure and the time she takes to double and triple check her surgical marking that this is someone who takes her technique to the next level.

From the pre-surgery instructions to the post-op follow up and care, Dr. Zakhary had a level of patient care I wish all businesses could replicate with their customers.

6 weeks later and I'm ecstatic with my results, and even friends and family that I hadn't seen for a month can't tell I had surgery done (tho the comments of looking tired on a daily basis have noticeably dissapeared)

Bottom line: If you are searching for the best possible facial cosmetic surgeon to get you your desired results, you should not hesitate to meet with Dr. Zakhary and experience a warm and experienced confidence that will assure you that you've made the right choice.

I had wanted a nose job since I first noticed my side profile. When I began looking for surgeons, Dr. Zakhary’s approach is what stood out to me. From our first online consultation due to COVID, Dr. Zakhary was friendly, genuine and extremely knowledgeable. She called me personally before my surgery when I had questions about my COVID-19 test, which it is amazing as I am sure most surgeons do not do that. I woke up today having some concerns (which I always do!), and within 45 minutes of sending an email she wrote back to me and provided me with comfort and reassurance. I could not be happier with the care, and I’m excited to see what it looks like in the end! I recommend Dr. Zakhary to anyone who wants a genuine, honest and kind surgeon taking care of you.

First of all, I just want to share that I am also a doctor and I was referred to Dr. Zakhary through another doctor I was working with. I have had troubles breathing for awhile now because of my deviated septum. I may have been born with it like that, but I've had the wonderful experience of smacking my nose through at least 2 glass doors, as well as through a glass table at various points of my life. Before these accidents made it look slightly crooked, my nose was pretty decent to look at straight on. I've never really loved my nose profile though and was happy to have the opportunity to get a dorsal hump and droopy tip fixed along with my septoplasty. I definitely preferred an ENT specialist because I wanted someone with a lot of experience with fixing deviated septums and breathing issues. The fact that she has a certification in extra plastic surgery training was the icing on the cake.
The anatomy or structure of my face and nose, the thinness of my skin, any other pre-existing conditions, how well my body heals, and consequently how this would affect the final result is neither in my control nor Dr. Zakhary's, and I understood this going in. It is very important to realize that when it comes to the human body, there never will be any kind of 'perfection', no matter how much Instagram or reality tv may try to push that narrative. Obviously I wanted to be thrilled with my results, but I was aware that this surgery would not cure my allergic rhinitis (moving out of Calgary might do that) nor would it make me look like Monica Bellucci.
I found Dr. Zakhary to be very sweet, friendly and completely non intimidating, in spite of her formidable level of training and years of education. It was kind of surprising actually. As a woman, I appreciated this. I wasn't afraid to express some of my hesitations and concerns. I don't want to get into sexism in the medical profession and why it's sometimes considered okay to be less kind or arrogant the higher you go, but it's nice to see a top surgeon who is also a really lovely person.
I really appreciated her medical expertise and training. She gave me my options, one of which included surgery. At no time did I ever get the impression that I HAD to have surgery. She did recommend some newer nasal sprays as one of the ways to treat my breathing issues. There was an extensive pre-op package that outlined instructions, the medications I was to take afterwards, taping my nose, sleeping with my head up for awhile afterwards, and what to expect during the procedure. She gave me her email address and was quick to respond to my suggestions.
The surgery went well and I had about 12-36 hours of pain which was helped by Tylenol. The first 12 hours after I was nauseous from the anaesthesia. The bruising faded completely in 2 weeks, however there was still quite a bit of swelling. My nose felt numb for months after and gradually began to fade. This can persist from anywhere to 1-5 years apparently.
The first thing I noticed after I came out from the general anaesthesia, however, was my breathing! It was amazing. I could feel the air go easily in and out of my left nostril for the first time in possibly my whole life. It was painful but the air flow was undeniable.
I did notice a small elevated ridge where my hump had been. At first it wasn't that easy to tell due to the swelling, but as my swelling subsided, I could see it more. It wasn't super obvious, but it was bothersome to me. It's not an unusual thing to happen, however, and I was just pleased that my deviated septum had been corrected, the droop had disappeared, and the larger hump was gone. Dr. Zakhary and I decided to wait a bit to see if it would go away on its own or whether it would need to be rasped down. You need a sufficient amount of time to see what the ultimate result will be because there is just SO much swelling that happens with this kind of surgery. Patience is key to being happy with your results.
About 10 months later the ridge didn't look like it would change much, so I went in for my rasping procedure. This was done with local anaesthetic, like the dentist uses. Needles are not pleasant, but the procedure didn't take a long time and the pain went away after a few hours with a Tylenol. It's healed very well and the bump is now gone! I'm still a little numb, but I expected that to last for awhile.
Overall, I am very pleased with my experience, even with the revision. I know that revisions are sometimes par for the course depending on the patient's individualized outcome, and so it didn't really bother me much. I thought Dr. Zakhary was very professional, accommodating and understanding throughout it all.
(There is a longer, more detailed review on Real Self that I wrote).

Dr. Zakhary is a miracle worker. I left the office feeling like a new me, not only was she able to relieve the pressure from constant headaches/migraines, somehow I left with a little more confidence. She is so personable, you can ask her anything without any judgement, just such a refreshing experience.
