I would not be alive today without Dr. Sur. He (and his wife) found the misdiagnosis and saved me from any further unnecessary treatments and put me on the path to the treatments which would save my life. He felt something was wrong and was like a "dog with a bone" being relentless in never giving up on me. I will be eternally grateful to this wonderful man and his amazing pathologist wife. We have so few Drs who will challenge the diagnosis of other Drs. You can count on Dr. Sur to ask all the right questions of other Drs. All Drs can unknowingly make wrong diagnosis. I was blessed to have had Dr. Sur question and resolve. Thank you again Dr. Sur for questioning your peers.

5 stars are not enough - should be 10 stars. Dr. Sur recently treated my 91 year old mother who was diagnosed with esophageal cancer - stage 2. Two days after clinic with him, my mother was receiving her first Brachytherapy. Just completed her final therapy today. Dr. Sur was excellent in every way. Thoroughly explained the process, diagrams and all. He is an expert in his field. Fortunate to have him at the Juravinski. He walked in and out of every treatment with my mom! The nurses and support staff could not have been more helpful, kind and thorough. It was such a pleasure to see our health care system working as it should. Thank you Dr. Sur. You've re-instilled my confidence in Doctors. 10+ *********

My husband was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer in July 2019 with life expectancy of six to eight months. Dr Sur was his oncologist and I can only repeat what all the other five star raters said: Dr Sur was the best. I know my husband lived to 16 months because of the care and treatment that Dr. Sur gave him. Thank you Dr. Sur. I am forever grateful. SL

Dr Sur was very prompt and quick in setting up dates and times for my mothers treatment once he saw her. He was very clear and honest in explaining her scenario and prognosis. He did not beat around the bush but was frank and thorough in her options and expectations of treatment. After brachytherapy treatment it took about 4 weeks for my mother to start eating normally. By normal, I mean eating roast beef! My mother could barely swallow water when he first saw her. He did dilate her esophageal cancer when he started brachytherapy which allowed her to eat some pureed food till the brachytherapy took effect in 3-4 weeks as he said it would. He personally would call and talk to his colleagues to move my mothers appointments. He would involve the LHIN for Home Care and support so that my mother was comfortable and looked after at home, I wish we had more doctors like him that cared for his patients and made things happen for them. Because of his efforts, my mother lived to eat normally for a good 8 months before dying of stage 4 esophageal cancer. Thank you Dr. Sur ; I wish I could rate you higher!

Dr Sur has been an outstanding support to my father over the past 6 months. He makes things happen quickly and cares enormously. My dad has loved the care he's received. I cannot say enough good about how he treated my father. Described as a "mover and a shaker" is true. He will do anything if it means saving your life but will be honest if he can't. Thanks Dr Sur.

Dr Sur and his team are fantastic ! He is very knowledgeable and a great asset to JCC . I am presently undergoing treatment for esophageal cancer and hope that I will be cancer free with the treatment plan prescribed . Dr. Sur has given me hope for survival !
