Went to this doctor for my father’s prostate cancer follow up and treatment. He continued to give him regular injections of the hormone blocker Goserelin despite having a PSA of 0.00. This medication has significant and dangerous side effects, including clotting, diabetes, and bone fragility. We got a second opinion from a different oncologist who was shocked to see this type of management, as the hormone blocker should not be given unless the PSA level is at least 8.00. On top of this, Dr. Major was unprofessional, rushed through our appointments, frequently turning towards the door to step out. He barely answered our questions, and played down any issues or concerns due to age and had a “you’re old, what do you expect” attitude.

I am writing to personally thank Dr. Major for his knowledge, patience compassion and professionalism. My Mom sadly passed in 2007, however, as a family, we were and will remain eternally grateful for the 26 years that the cancer clinic and Dr. Major helped our Mother live with breast cancer. Kudos to the Jurisvinski cancer clinic, Dr. Major and all other staff who played a role in the 26 years our Mother lived with dignity, compassion and professionalism.

I am writing for my mom she had him back in 2016/2017. He was not very helpful. After she had scans he never mentioned them. I asked about the cancer in her lungs and he circled his hands and said she had lots of tumours. Durning one visit he said to her “ you know you are 78” who says that to a patient. He gave her medication from someone else that caused her hands and feet to peel excessively and was extremely painful. We felt he didn’t care to heel her.

He was very direct and took his time to explain and answer my questions, just the way I like my doctor to be

I agree with below comments. He was very unsympathetic, we felt rushed and confused with what he was saying because he was speaking as if we know what the heck is going on- but no we don’t that’s why we have all these questions. very blunt and to the point and not caring.

No bedside manner. Not clear. Rushed, very short with you. Seemed unsympathetic.

I do not agree with the previous reviews. Met Dr. Major to get a second opinion on treatment and found him very helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I did not feel rushed or dismissed in any way. I was totally satisfied with my appointment and certainly did not find him uncaring.

I also agree with the other reviews. Delivery of diagnoses was unclear. Poor organisational skills, unsympathetic and overprofessional to delivering serious news. In regards to discussing treatments creates unnecessary confusion. Stay away from this oncologist unless you want to be treated with insensitivity, carelessness, and just a general bad experience. He doesn't care and makes it obvious that he doesn't care. Treats you like a number.

I echo the previous review . He is ignorant uncaring and rude. Left my mother waiting in room over an hour.
