First of all, I agree with everyone else that commented on this secretary. She’s brutal. Rude, agitated with an incongruent affect (haha) She is clearly easily flustered by simple appointment bookings and freely takes her emotions out on the patients . She’s occasionally nice.

Now with regards to Dr. Zalan. Initially I didn’t know what to make of him. He has this undertone when he communicates with me. But as I got to know him, I appreciate that he is a stricter doctor when it comes to prescribing and is happy to help me with my goals of reducing medications at my own pace and readiness. I appreciate him as my doctor .

This "Doctor" listened to my wife spill her heart out about all her life trauma and at the very end of the call tell hers that he is going to submit a recommendation too have her license suspended......She has never Driven Drunk and has a clean driving record...Way to treat a Nurse asking for help you putts.

Notify OMA, Ministry of Health ( both Provincial and Federal), Ontario HUman Rights Commission, Ombudsman and any competent body about the practices of this creature, rest assured it is not a coincidence or a misinterpretation related to your psychiatric condition if you had or are having a terrible experience with him. He puts his patients in a community treatment order and states: " nothing is holding you in Ontario and Canada, you can always leave". When questioned about the potential side effects ( that ended up materializing in my case) he replies: " if I have to I will go to court with you". When a roommate at North York General with HIV tried to commit suicide, the next day he sarcastically asks with a smile and slight laugh on his face: " How was your night with your roommate yesterday? "This few examples the nature of this BEAST holding a license to practice...The only reason I conceive he is still practicing is due to a shortage of Doctors in Ontario and or influence of his Surname background....It would be more beneficial not having a Doctor at all than having him making decisions that are harming ( physically and psychologically) his patients with lifelong consequences...He explicitly discriminates if one is not born and bred in Canada...OMA should revoke his insurance, medical errors can happen due to inadvertent mistakes but in his case, it is consistently occurring directly linked to his behaviour pattern and reckless, unethical and unprofessional practices. he is not only damaging the mental and physical health of his patients but also affecting family members and close ones. His soft spoken style is just a disguise to his dangerous, problematic and questionable nature and intentions...He truly believes he is not subject to accountability and oversight simply because he is a " Doctor" " treating" people with psychiatric disorders and hence not fit and in condition to hold him accountable!The only way this situation will change is whenexternal bodies outside the influence of Menatl Health department of North York General commence taking formal and impartial action. And this will only happen when all patients experiencing these problems start writing objectively to these competent bodies. Alternatively, if you have the financial and emotional capacity to hire a lawyer without damaging your mental health and professional career, dont think twice! it can not only save your life but it can save many other lives in the future! I became DIABETIC directly linked to the medication ( Abilify) he forced be to take through injections for over 2 years!!! He uses intimidation and blackmail if he has... Be very careful with him!

To summarize : A psychopath in charge of people with Psychiatric disorders...should be prohibited to practice by a review board. Write to your local MPP if you have to as this individual is not in condition to deal with people's health , never mind mental health...

Horrible experience back in 2017. My physical health was perfect, now is seriously impaired due to side effects. Arrogant and biased toward immigrants... Run away from him and save your life!

Worst Psychiatrist I’ve had the displeasure of being assigned to. This clown will go through the lines and hand you pieces of paper with some other places to call then prescribe you a random medication and off you go. The audacity to charge patients who are in many cases dealing with crippling mental health problems because they are late or miss an appointment? How more out of touch can you be. This moron doesn’t care about people he just seems pissed off he isn’t working in the U.S and gouging people for every penny they have. Avoid at all costs, my interaction with this doctor only exacerbated my mental health struggles and added another terrible experience to my journey in trying to find peace in my life.

Dr. Zalan has been an amazing doctor to me for the past 10 years. He has seen me at my lowest and at my highest moments in my life. He is quiet because he is listening and taking notes, he is polite and quite humanistic in his approach. He is not just there to give me pills, but to also encourage and give me hope.

Dr. Zalan has been incredibly helpful and open-minded when it comes to my non-binary/LGBTQ identity, disabilities, and ethnic background. He really does the effort to genuinely comprehend just where the person is coming from as well as what they might be feeling, in order to suggest more alternatives of support. I couldn't be more thankful for his presence in my life. I wholeheartedly recommend this doctor.

He is the worst doctor. Complete dud, doesn’t seem to know much of anything at all. Looks like he himself is drugged up on something and his secretary definitely has mental problems of her own. If he was such a great doctor he’d help her before anyone else. But he just cares about the money not really doing his job.
