My first cataract surgery was initially a success.
Two weeks later I had vision problems.
After many years of the habit of inserting contact lens. I had inserted a contact lens over my new cataract surgery. Dr. Nixon couldn't detect a lens in my eye,. It wasn't until I realized what I had done, and told him about it, was he able to agree that a contact lens was inadvertently inserted.

Fast forward three years and I had an appointment to have my second cataract surgery performed. I was prepped for the surgery with dilating drugs, IV insertion and a three hour wait....when I was told that the correct lens hadn't been ordered. Mistakes are made. but why wasn't this error realized earlier.Surely procedures and drugs are (or should be) double checked way before the patient is called for the surgery
One wonders if the governing body readys these evaluations ???
there are many negative comments about Nixon's poor reputation with cataract surgery.

Dr nixon is a kind caring compassionate man who is very knowledgeable and has honed his craft very well. Meticulous experienced he juggles his workload and is confident about his recommendations and procedures.
A steady hand guides him and a passion for his job.
His staff are amazing and Kim is awesome.

Had my cataract surgery by this guy and he is very abrupt and rude. My eyes are worse now than before the surgery. Would never recommend him to anyone.

Had Dr Nixon do a cataract procedure on left eye (can’t drive at night,poor vision) have to take a shot every month in that eye even though I paid for the measurements on both eyes I went to Toronto Weston Dr. Brent who did my right eye I have .20/20 vision in that eye. Every appointment I had he was on a personal call about building his boat house. Unprofessional.

Been having problems for over 2 years with a cataract surgery; he is abrupt, rude, office is always over crowed; rooms are never cleaned during COVID 19. He is probably good at helping spread it to mostly seniors. He's not much of a doctor; he's money hungry.

Cost me $4000.00 so far from my pocket + OHIP my eyes are worst now, I think this man is greedy, he's running all the time to get the max patients thru for big pay day.
Does not take time to talk, see what the patient need he keep saying I can drive 32 Weller but I can't drive a car at night still need glaces.
Arrogant piece of you know what bragging about 30 years experience.
keep your money and keep running away from this guy. Don't trust Dr who send you to him

Dr. Nixon is quick at his work. I still suspect he put the wrong lens into my left eye. I returned to see him about the difficulty I had seeing, but received no help. I would not recommend him to anyone. E. H. M

I would highly recommend Dr. Nixon. I left his office feeling I was in good hands. I underwent Right Eye Cataract Extraction in October 2020 with excellent results and I am preparing for Left Eye Cataract Extraction in February 2021. Dr. Nixon does not beat around the bush, but he is very pleasant in his manner and is available to answer any questions. He is very good and very busy. Dr. Nixon was not the first doctor I spoke with before making my decision about my cataract surgery, but he is the doctor I chose.
