This arrogant doctor wasted my time. I had to come from quite far away (which was expensive) to see him on the recommendation of my regular lung specialist. He asked me no questions and immediately said I was probably using my inhaler wrong (but didn't bother to explore whether that was true or not - and it was not true) and then stated that my breathing problems had to be because of my weight (also not true). However his staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating and got me into a different specialist in the building who actually was very respectful and helpful.

Dr. Fitzgerald is very likeable and knowledgeable. He put me at ease from the very first visit for my COPD. He sent me for the appropriate tests and actually personally phoned me on a weekend to give me the results of those tests! I would recommend him to anyone who has lung problems.

I did not have a great experience with Dr. Fitzgerald. He was rude and didn't want to take any responsibility for my asthma when I called for follow up after seeing him for about 3 years. He continually wants to fob me off on other doctors.

Dr. Fitzgerald is a kind, compassionate, knowledgeable doctor who sees patients as people and not just a body part. It would be wonderful if more specialists were like him.

First visit with my sister put us both at ease. We will figure you out and get this under control. Thank you so much for helping my sister. Meds, other testing all arranged with one visit. Definitely would recommend Dr. Fitzgerald & his team. So knowledgeable and patience to teach us both. Such a huge relief for my sister. Thank you does not cover how I am feeling. Dr. Fitzgerald is a wonderful doctor and heads up the Respirology dept. at UBC/VGH. He put me at ease immediately and asked many questions on my first visit. Answered all of my questions and prescribed the appropriate medications. I highly recommend this doctor.
