Dr. Chu is bright, thorough and helpful. I've been seeing her for a few years and have been very happy with her care. Thanks Dr. Chu!

I've always received great care from Dr. Chu. She always listens to everything I have to say without rushing me as I know some doctors do. She was also extremely helpful and patient during the first few weeks of my pregnancy with giving me all the prenatal care I needed before I chose a midwife to continue seeing me, so I'm very grateful for that!

I had the worst doctor patient experience in my life with Dr. Stephanie Chu recently regarding my prenatal care. During my entire appointment she argued with me about the hospital I told her I preferred to deliver at. First of all she's a family doctor, choosing a hospital is within my right as a patient. I was also advised by a friend who is an OB/Gyn that the hospital I wanted to deliver at was the best choice. Second of all she talked to me as if I was a high school friend she was having a very catty and condescending argument with. I felt my heart racing during the entire appointment. If you're looking to have a humane conversation with a caring and kind physician, this doctor is not for you, I vowed that I will never step foot in a clinic she works at again. She also has locum doctors that work at her clinic (currently at West Broadway) I've seen in the past for previous appointments whom told me they didn't realize she was moving her clinic to downtown Vancouver until she had released a statement to patients that day advising them of the office move. You would think that a good communicator would first tell the staff that work at her practice of such drastic change to their career. She is a terrible communicator, she was very rude and did not read my chart. Even after I told her I was pregnant she asked if I was pregnant (which was on my chart) she also didn't know why I was there although I was called into the clinic after having bloodwork done. Just overall a very bad experience!

Dr. Chu doesn't listen to her patient's concerns, she goes by the book, but thinks she knows it all. The staff is rude. Terrible doctor. I would give her 0 star if possible.

I found her very considerate. Took the time to get to know our family. Has always followed up my concerns with appropriate investigations.

Office hours are not accurate online and they work less than stated. Very difficult to get an appointment. I like Dr Chu but I don't think the office is run well.

She was rude, extremely unsympathetic, only focused on the 10 minute time limit per patient, and made me choose between discussing my recent trip to the ER or do a breast examination which is what I had been scheduled for. She treated me like I was insignificant and that my trip to the ER (2 days prior to my appointment) was not worth discussing. I inquired about the recent news on the birth control pill (Alesse) and because she had not heard heard about it proceeded to condescendingly tell me that I shouldn't believe everything I read. It was extremely worrying to encounter a doctor who is not up to speed on current events especially with regards to medical news. She is not qualified to have people's lives in her hands. It is disappointing that doctors like her are a part of the medical system.
