Without a doubt the worst dr ive experienced. I’ve been seeing her for a few yrs and it never gets any better. Im unfortunately stuck with her due to the shortage of drs. She is always late - often by 1hr! Does not respect her patients talks (berates) more than she listens. She will turn your list of symptoms into separate issues that you have to book another appointment for (1 month in between). Argues, berates, and is very rude an condescending - medical gaslighting at its finest. She clearly hates her job. She refuses to make referrals, advocate for procedures which other specialists recommend and will keep you spinning for yrs withoit addressing the issues. My most recent visit really upset me, and I am seriously thinking about reporting it. I have concerns that if I continue seeing her serious errors and misjudgements with regard to my healthcare will be made.

Although i had a bit of a lengthy wait for my scheduled appointment , she addressed multiple issues with me today. She was not rushed, listened patiently, and addressed all five issues with me. Some drs feel they can limit issues during appointment periods even though, arguably, this is unethical conduct for a dr. This is not her policy. She is caring and attentive. I left her office feeling very well-taken care of. Great dr.

Asked for a referral and was refused. Received a call for a different referral (different type of practitioner) and was surprised as I had been denied at the appointment. (Also was reprimanded for booking the wrong kind of appointment, but I explained everything to the receptionist. Isn’t that the receptionists issue?)

Went to the referral and was asked to review the medical information sent by Dr Chu and it wasn’t accurate. Really inaccurate.

I know it’s hard to find a Dr, but keep shopping. Don’t stop here.

Dr. Stephanie Chu is not the warm and fuzzy type of doctor that is going to coddle you with endless sweet talk, but she is extremely competent and and knowledgeable and you can feel that safe that you are in good hands with her. She has helped me with so many medical issues and I am grateful. At the end of the day, what I want as a patient is a doctor I can trust to figure out what's medically wrong with me, while keeping on top of my general health, and that's exactly what Dr. Chu delivers.

Dr. Stephanie Chu has been very helpful in numerous occasions. She is always open to discussing different options for treatments, and always provides information and education behind the decisions she makes. She is also excellent at referring patients to specialists when the problem is outside her scope. I have always had positive experience with her!

Dr chu runs a busy practice. she can sound condescending at times which I am ok with as long as she does a good job with addressing health concerns. I feel she cares for her patients overall - drs are human and can also get tired and edgy.

She typically refers to other specialist once its outside the scope of her care and I am thankful for that. My child however, didnt get referred to a specialist right away as she thought she can handle it reassuring me a couple of times that shes helped with lots of similar cases. This inadvertently led me to waste 3 critical months. Lesson is to also advocate for yourself even if your dr has a stronger personality than yours. She cares but you need to trust your gut and voice it out when the level of care you need isn't being met.

Phenomenal. After my family doctor, whom I had for 25 years, retired, I was thrown to the wolves. The slathering wolves being the walk-in clinics. The doctors in these clinics (I went to two, both off the corner of Kingsway and Victoria) were often harried (one quit!) and too uninformed on the heads of departments in VGH and St. Paul's.

Dr. Chu is very well put together. She knew. She knew all the right doctors for the ills in the body. I continue to be impressed by her.

So with that, I highly recommend her.

I recently had an online and in person appointment with Dr. Chu and she provided excellent care and follow up. My analysis was detailed and explained for a clear understanding of the complex problem. She is thorough and is helpful in referring to specialist if necessary. We are more than happy with her.
