I wish he was my GP! Such compassion and thorough examination. We need more doctors like him in the medical profession. He listens, asks questions and explains things really well. I know the wait times in the ER are long but such a blessing to have a doctor like this in the end.

I was recently admitted in the emergency ward at the U of A hospital. It was a surprise to me on the very long wait times. Once being admitted to the examination area, I was then introduced to Dr. Nichols, from the moment of introduction to the latter release of my emergency stay , I was very impressed with his approach, bed side manner, listening skills, his attention to detail, his caring demeanour, acknowledgement to my spouse and the knowledge and experience he displayed. My wife and I can't thank you enough for your time and your positive reassurance. Dr. Nichols, you are truly a great person In our eyes.

excellent doctor, he saved my husband. His family doctor sent my husband to emergency after 2 X rays showed he had pneumonia by 2 different radiologists, he went in to emergency at U of A hospitals and saw Dr. Nichols, Dr. Nichols was not 100% convinced that my husband had pneumonia, he showed us 3 different x rays from different dates and the xrays showed that my husband was improving every day, he did some blood works while he was there and the indexes did not convince Dr. Nichols that my husband had infections in him. He sent us home with a prescription of some potassium. He is by far the the best doctor and is willing to make the right and BOLD decision which is right for his patients.

Dr. Nichols was wonderful when I spent January 23, 2023 in the U of A Emergency! He listened to me, discussed my health issues with me and his excellent resident, and probed my very complicated health history. He was thorough, funny, and very informative and reassured me about various matters. Thank you to both Dr. Nichols and his resident (sorry I didn't hear her name clearly)! They did an even more difficult job while the Internet was down for many hours yesterday!

He is one and only best doctors working out of u of a emergency , that has knowledgeable information and that actually cares and talks to you . Not like the rest of them that actually give you a prescription with actually checking you out!! I wished he had his own family practice office …

My handicapped sister had a seizure and was taken to U of A emerg. Dr Nichols was the attending that seen her and he was fabulous. He was kind, patient, funny just an all around amazing doctor. I have had the experience of having to deal with many different doctors over the years and Dr Nichols is by far the best doctor and human I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Thank you Dr. Nichols!

I am 46 and up until eight years ago, I was in incredible shape and a picture of health; then I found out I had a tumour in my chest. I had a successful surgery to remove the tumour, but that was just the beginning of my nightmare. I have been in and out of multiple emergency rooms with each time resulting in them just doing some cursory bloodwork, pumping me full of drugs, and sending me home without any further investigation. I was rushed to the U of A hospital with such terrible pain I couldn't even stand up. I was admitted and Dr. Nichols was the ER doctor. For the first time in EIGHT years of stints in the ER and being dismissed every single time, Dr. Nichols actually took the time to do a CT. He also contacted both my Gastroenterologist and GP. I now have an actual plan AND the meds he prescribed have actually made a difference. I feel like I have my life back. I couldn't be more appreciative of this man. He's given me a new lease on life. I can actually say that I am looking forward to my future.

Dr. Nichols treated my Dad after he was misdiagnosed at another hospital. After explaining the situation, he came up with a clear, concise plan and ordered all of the tests to determine exactly what was going on. He was extremely thorough in his diagnosis and took extra steps to ensure the proper treatment. He explained everything in understandable terms and took the time to ensure that we were comfortable with the treatment. Based on his diagnosis, my Dad ended up being admitted and treatment started immediately. Without this, my Dad may not be here today. Thank you for your dedication and the superb care provided by both you and the ER staff. We feel very lucky you were there when we came in!!!
