Ratings for Dr. Kerri Novak
Dr. Novak has been amazing! She diagnosed me with Crohn’s in 2011 and has gone above and beyond in my medical care to ensure that referrals I needed were timely and efficient. She has followed up, her clinical staff follows up with me, monitoring blood work and tests every time she receives them. She is very thorough in monitoring my condition and if I have questions she does her best to answer them. She is usually running behind schedule on appointments, but given her thoroughness I can live with that. I moved to a nearby city and still come back to Calgary to see her for my disease management. She has been the doctor who restored my faith in the medical system, after 6 years of being unable to find out what was causing me to be ill for so long. It was a wound care specialist who referred me to her when no other doctors were considering IBD as a reason for my illness. She moved heaven and earth to help me, despite my reluctance and when she referred me for tests or treatments these things happened, and happened fast, where other referrals from other physicians took months or simply did not happen at all (due to staff errors or lack of urgency, I don’t know). She is amazing, and well respected, and she truly cares. I never want to leave her!

Dr. Nowak and her team went above and beyond to help me with a problem that was not even in their department.
Scheduling assistant Teri expedited my appointment requisition upon hearing my main presenting problem which was missing from my requisition.
GI fellow Andy Liu was able to immediately diagnose my condition through a physical exam, and confirmed it by checking my medical records for a condition that had been listed on a test but missed by other clinicians.
Dr. Nowak was gracious, kind and took action to see to it that I would get the proper surgery that I've needed for years for a worsening condition.
And did I mention that my problem was not in their department? : ) What a blessing they are after three years of waiting and wondering.

I'm not sure who she thinks she is but this is one of the most arrogant, self-absorbed individuals I've ever met. She was over two hours late for my last appointment, no apology just focused on how busy she was. She is a scatter brain and doesn't follow-up on any of my tests and I ended up in hospital with my Crohn's disease requiring emergency surgery under her so-called watchful eye. I could here the team talk outside my room and one of the senior doctors saying this could have been avoided and the medications I was exposed to were being used inappropriately. If you have Crohn's disease avoid this woman for the sake of your health. She only cares about herself and her precious ultrasound which she constantly told me was the way she was going to keep me out of hospital and surgery.

Terrible experience. I would recommend to look else where. Was a very long wait. No sympathy, rude and needs an upgrade on her professionalism. I left feeling worthless. Truly disappointed.

Dr. Novak is an amazing specialist. She is extremely compassionate and driven in her line of work. She is willing to dig deeper to solve your issues and make sure you are feeling better in a timely manner. Very happy I found her, she is the best!

Absolutely horrible experience. Had to get a second opinion. She is driven by her studies to promote certain drugs and not by the well being of her patients.

This lady did an endoscopy on me a few months back and I have had nothing but issues since! Will not even recognize or acknowledge her error! Should have her medical license revoked!

I have had Crohns for 30years and have seen many good doctors during that time. The level of care and concern for the health and well being of my daughter and I from Dr. Novak is truly above and beyond.
