I couldn’t breathe properly through my nose so decided to have a septoplasty and turbenectomy done. Worse decision ever. After suffering through the healing process, my breathing is worse than before & I now have other added issues. When I went back for the follow up appointment he took a quick glance & said looks good. WRONG!!!

20 years ago or so, Russell re-did a mastoidectomy, which I had done when I was a kid. I had problems with my hearing, pain and repeated infections after the original surgery. Russell did a great job of the surgery and has been thorough and caring in my outpatient appointments in the years since. Highly recommended.

Russell is a dear man. A very caring and helpful Dr. He was very perceptive when working with my husband. Very reassuring. Very busy but never rushed us even though we didn’t have an appointment and saw hubby in an emergency. Thank you. Great Dr

Although the registration individual gave a bit of flack w/my request for Dr Calder vs the on call ENT who performed the emergent surgery- overall excellent score. Dr Calder has a history going back 8 years w/my family. Pam spoke to Dr Calder & he squeezed my little guy in at FCMH outreach for a f/u to emergent tubes- the wait at the end of his day wasn't torture & the staff there provided activities as well as cartoons on tv. This also saved me 30 miles in driving w/twins who aren't fans of long trips. I could not be more pleased with the level of compassion, expertise & sincere patient care that Dr Calder (& Pam) show for their patients. It helps that both my boys like him because a T & A w/Dr Calder is in their future.

I received treatment which included surgery for thyroid cancer. This was the second surgery for this diagnosis as the first surgery was successful but indicated the necessity to remove the second half of the thyroid. This second surgery was also successful and is the basis for this review. The entire process from the initial appointment for consultation through the actual surgery to the follow up appointments and to the final successful disposition of the treatment was exemplary and outstanding for its courteous and professional service. From Doctor caulder , to all the assistants and nurses, the quality of care and attention to my concerns was without question first rate and of the highest level. I have no issues with any aspect of my treatment from Doctor caulder and his team. The quality of care I received at Hospital was also of the highest standard. The only quibble in the treatment I received at Penn Presbyterian Hospital was the wait after the surgery was completed. Although I was told prior to surgery that I would require an overnight stay for recovery and monitoring, the room I believe that was originally reserved for me was released and I was required to wait in the post surgery recovery area until another room was available, which did not become available until after 6:00 PM. This was beyond the responsibility and control of Doctor caulder and I hold him completely without fault or blame for this inconvenience. This was the only instance of any kind of issue in my treatment and I would classify it as merely a slight annoyance. I would nevertheless rate the quality of the services I received and the quality of care as excelleknt

I had tonsil cancer and Dr Calder did my surgery to remove the cancer and lymph nodes. He is a great surgeon and the scar on my neck is barely noticeable. He was very concerned with my surgery and radiation recovery process. He listened to all my concerns, worries and issues and always provided assurance, guidance and a solution. He never rushed me and my family along my appointments and always took the time to answer their questions too.
