dr. kivanc is a god send to those who know him. like others he saved my life. i had been ill for many years i was in severe pain and couldn't get out of bed and after many rheumatologists and others drs. he finally put all the odd symptoms together along with my internist/gp and i was diagnosed with SLE (lupus). dr kivanc and khoa are just the best, they worked with me and my internist to find a treatment plan and pain meds that work. he is so patient, gentle, caring and kind. i don't know where i would be if he hadn't taken my case. when he left i was literally devestated. i miss him more than i can say. dr goldman was an odd little guy and very timid. i have a major problem with dr gomez who is covering for him now. i'm afraid that she will ruin his practice and is putting a black mark on his practice. as long as khoa is there i will remain his patient and wait for his long overdo return. please come home dr kivanc you are very very dearly missed. i can't take dr gomez any longer.

I have been going to Dr. Kivanc for over 6 years now and miss him terribly! I have a rare autoimmune disease that is found in only about 500 people in the U.S. He is one of the few doctors who actually knows what my disease is and how to treat it. He is very considerate and truly cares about his patients. Yes, the wait is long, yes, his support staff is incompetant and rude, but he makes up for all of that, ten-fold. When my last rheumatologist started actually questioning the amount of pain I was in, I found Dr. K and thanks to him and the very expensive infusions I recieve, I'm able to have some semblance of a normal life. I've been told he will return in August, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Don't know how much longer I can tolerate Dr. Goldman and staff!

I have been a patient since 2003. I also had a gastric bypass (in 2004) and have the associated malabsorbtion complications. Dr. Kivanc worked diligently with my surgeon post-op to ensure that my meds would not cause complications and was totally flexible with regard to dosage adjustments and medication changes. I was very impressed with his determination to research and learn everything he could about gastric bypass so that I wouldn't end up at square one. He truly is an angel! In the old office, the wait times were long and the front desk staff was mean and cranky. Once he got out of there, both problems were resolved. Unfortunately, he had to take an extended leave of absence and he is missed a great deal. All the comments that address this situation are 100% accurate. Please hurry back Dr. K! We all miss you and NEED you!!! I hope you are well and look forward to your return. SJohnson :-)

Dr.Kivanc is a very personable, knowledgeable, caring doctor. We Miss Him! Thru the past 5 yrs. waiting times have been long. That is because he takes the time to LISTEN to the patient. I have been on opiates for over 12 years, for many health issues.People who take the medications as prescribed and don't abuse the meds. should have no problems.Yes,your body becomes dependant on these meds, you also build a tolerance. If you get better you can come off of them slowly. Thank God for Dr.'s like him who are not afraid to help pain by prescribing appropriate medication’s I was totally bedbound and to the point of suicide from the pain I suffered. When at the end of my rope, a Pain Clinic Doctor put me on the opiates along with other medications. I was up able to cook for my kids, go to the store, take walks. My pain Dr. moved.Dr.Kivanc took over my care.If it wasn't for these doctors that do care,I wouldn't be here. Me and my small children were living in the ER. Suffering is no life! KT

Dr. Kivanc was my doctor up until last October, November time frame. Dr. Kivanc's staff said Dr. Kivanc went on Vacation. Here it is April 2008 and Dr. Kivanc has not been back to his office. If he was a caring Dr. why hasn't he returned to his practice? He is now practicing at Georgetown Univ/Gorman Bldg Washington,DC office. I have been left in a bad situation. Dr. Goldman doesn't care about Dr. Kivanc's patients and I haven't been treated or taken care of since Dr.Kivanc left. I think this would be considered poor health care. I feel like instead of finding out what can help me I have a doctor who doesn't know my case and doesn't seem to care. Dr.Kivanc hasn't come back. Will he ever? I need to find myself another doctor that can help me with my condition. A doctor that I hope won't leave without notice.

Dr. Kivanc is one of the most compassionate doctor's I have ever met. He is a knowledgable and devoted doctor. I miss you Dr.Kivanc and I hope you return soon. Doctor's like you are one in a million. Note - after suffering for years with what seemed to be numerous unrelated symptoms, Dr. Kivanc identified my illness on my first visit which he confirmed via appropriate tests before telling me of my diagnosis. He immediately put me on a treatment plan which continues to be monitored and changed as necessary. Although I do not know why you (Dr. Kivance) are currently not available, I can only hope that you will soon return. If there are personal reasons that are keeping you away, good thoughts are sent your way, but most of all many thanks are being sent to you for all that you have done.

Dr. Kivanc is a very good doctor in my eye. He listens to you and does everything he can to help you with your problem. If you do the therapy and use your medications when needed, then your pain problems will subside or become manageable for you to have the best normal life you can with his assistance. Dr. Kivanc we miss you and hope you return soon. He has been helping me with failed lumbar surgery and arthritis.

While he is personally a good doctor, Kivanc just left the country in October without informing his patients what his plans were, and without making arrangements for alternate care. His practice partner is INCOMPETENT, and treats Kivanc's patients like they are a burden, because he knows that Kivanc will eventually take them back at some point. Office staff know where their bread is buttered, and Kivanc's patients are not a priority. With patients in serious condition, Kivanc's office DOES NOT RETURN CALLS. Avoid this doctor.

Kr.Kivanc has helped me with my RA, Scoliosis, and a multitude of other musculoskeletal disorders for over the last five years. He is a really caring and compassionate man. Recently, he has not been seeing patients for, I am told, personal family-related issues for the past 5 months, yet nothing official has been issued from the practice. In the interum, patients are forced to be seen by his partner Dr Goldman. Goldman, although a quiet and passive man, has proven himself an incompassionate, under-experienced doctor, teamed by Qua Nguyen, whoes credentials remain a mystery. Together the two have been dismissing patients without Kivanc, based purely on their "likeability" (as quoted by the staff). With an apparent disdain of treating a patient's pain with opiod analgesics, Goldman unethically denies them treatment for their conditions, and dismisses them without regard to the medical consquences, with no time for transition to another practice. Dr Kivnac, Return for the sake of others.
