dr. kivanc is the best dr. his nursing staff will not help you. I have been with this dr over 8 years. i follow him office to office. he is kind and knows what he is doing

I have chronic pain and doctor Kivanc helped me with the pain but beyond that to fix the prolem. Why are you complaining about someone getting helped with their pain many years ago...who knows if you would even have your loved on if they had not been helped with their pain. Ask all of us that suffer sometimes it gets to be too much where you wish you were just deid and then doctors like dr Kivanc help us cope and deal with the pain so we can have a half way deceit life and doofy people like you come around talking about "Ah...dah...I had a loved one years ago...ah ha wait yup it was years ago...yeah" If that was someone you really loved you would appreciate the fact that they are getting help from Dr Kivanc; but I think you made the whole thing up....liar!! God bless you doctor Kivanc and keep you in his care!!

Dr. Kivanc saw one of my loved ones for rheumatoid arthritis years ago. Not only did he not properly treat the problem, he focused on the symptoms - the pain - by drugging the patient with an exorbitant amount of addictive narcotic pain meds (even after I pleaded with him to try an approach different from the one he was using, which obviously wasn't working). So, instead of getting treated for the arthritis, the patient became much more ill from the narcotics. The patient said that Kivanc was eventually investigated by the DEA. I'm not aware of the outcome of this investigation. Clearly, I do not recommend this doctor.

I'm the first and formost to complain about bad service. But in Dr Kivanc I have some compliments: He is intelligent, he listens, he really trys to figure out the root of the problem, and he'll also refer you to really good specialists. His staff is nice and friendly. Only thing I hate is having to wait in the lobby but then I've never met a doctor that doesn't make you wait.

I was one of Dr. Kivancs first patients when he started practicing in NOrthern VA. I had to leave the practice because his staff is rude and nasty when you ask for copies of records or letters for other Doctors etc. The wait time is ridiculous 3 hours past your appointment is wrong it is literally a all day affair to go there. He is a good doctor but not the doctor for me anymore. I found a new rheumatologist and I am doing so much better on new meds etc. I take no narcotics now I always followed Doctors orders. He didnt even return phone calls to my Primary Care Doctor when I was hospitalized in the ICU they were looking to see if he had recently ran a certain test. His practice has gotten too big and he no longer has time for his patients and its sad. My billing is a disaster you can never get them on the phone to fix it.

ratings are based on my husband's bad experiences with this doctor. He gave my husband minimal treatment, opting instead to prescribe large amounts of Oxycontin and Percocet. My husband became addicted for years, eventually getting off the meds on his own. My husband is in less pain now than when he was on the pain meds. At virtually every appt, my husband was forced to wait for hours.

Dr. Kivanc, is HAND-DOWN, the best Rheumatologist around. He is extraordinarily knowledgable, kind and compassionate. But now people have started to realize how fantastic he is, so sometimes you have to wait awhile in the waiting room. Also, he takes time with his patients - he doesn't try to fit every visit into a 15 minute interval, so that also creates occasional delays. But these are all good things. He treats his patients like people, not numbers or time slots. I never mind waiting to see him, because I know that to him I'm not just his "10:15 appointment". I was diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis at 29. Six years later, he has done everything possible to help me aggressively fight this disease while maintaining some semblance of a normal life. My quality of life is always of UTMOST importance to him. I recommend him HIGHLY!

As a 25 year lupus survivor I am very happy that I have wound up in Dr. Kivanc's hands. When necessary he spends a good deal of time with his patients, which is probably why he is always late.

Dr. Kivanc diagnosed my Rhuematoid Arthritis 5 years ago. I was in extreme pain and he was understanding and listened to what was happening. He diagnosed me quickly and started aggressive treatment promptly. He has been my only Rheumatologist and I do not plan on changing. Dr. Kivanc is the Best Doctor I have had. S. Clauder

Dr Kivanc is the one rheumatologist who listens..he didn't blame my fibromyalgia on being depressed and to "take care of that" and put me on drugs that landed me on a couch and gain 30 lbs and become worthless. HE helped find me meds that helped me function, while its not half what i used to do at least some days i can actually function somewhat normal for a few hours. He is nice, he cares. He does testing, blood work, scans to make sure he doesn't over look anything causing the problem. i would recommend him to anyone needing a rheumatologist.
