I was diagnosed by ER at CVH with collapsed lung and met with my surgeon, Dr. Sameena Uddin, the very same night. She explained why I was in so much pain and the procedures for my surgery. Very next morning I had my surgery. It had been a difficult surgery because my lung was filled with bacterial pneumonia. As a result, I was in tremendous pain during recovery and after a few days, Dr Uddin took the tubes out of my chest and I was in excruciating pain and needed high dosage of IV pain meds and antibiotics to help me get better. Some of my nurses were very caring and helpful. I was discharged after 5 days, but 3 days later, I was taken back to CVH as my infection was worse because I was sick from the antibiotics prescribed for me to take at home. As a result, I spent another 8 days in hospital to clear up my lung infection. Dr. Uddin was very patient, answered all my questions, explained procedures and the need for specific antibiotics clearly, and she cared about my well-being! Unfortunately, my second stay in the ward wasn’t as good because some of the nurses were rude and very impatient and took a long time to respond to my calls (which weren’t many), so I asked Dr. Uddin to discharge me so I could finish recuperating at home in my own bed where it is much quieter so I could get my rest! The surgery ward was a very busy place and quite noisy so I wasn’t getting enough sleep because it was very noisy in the ward! However, I trusted Dr. Uddin implicitly and am very grateful to her because she saved my life during my lung surgery in March 2017! I would definitely have Dr. Uddin be my surgeon again if I need surgery! Thanks, Dr. Uddin for saving my life! Your advice has been greatly appreciated throughout my recovery and to help me to not get a life threatening pneumonia again! 👍🙏

I can not find a word to explain my grateful for her support
It is not easy to leave with cancer but you can fight if you have the support from her
As the only word you can say she is a human by all means always give you hope and feeling that you are not alone in your battle

Fantastic doctor, DR Uddin performed lung surgery on my after my second lung collapse and spent time with my worried family explaining what was happening and how she would fix it.....I have her card on my fridge just in case it happens again.......nobody else but Dr Uddin will do!

Dr Uddin has performed 2 esophagus dilation all of which were successful. I just had a esophagus dilation on Thursday, March 15, 2018. This one I feel was very successful. I can swallow my vitamins with no struggle to get it down. I had my first cooked meal I made today and it went down smoothly. It was back when I was about 31 years old I had a major surgery of my esophagus and some 30 years later having problems, rather than having this major surgery again, Dr. Uddin is performing esophagus dilation slowly to bring it back like it was. We all should be thankful to Dr. Uddin for her knowledge, and tender loving care. She makes you feel so comfortable. I love her as my Oncologist and if I could I would give her a 10 Star.
