Seen her 3 times. Must have gotten 3 minutes of her apparently precious time. She has no time for questions or answer questions. Cost me 3 years of quality of life because her failure to properly diagnos my condition!!!

I've had three endoscopy's done by Dr. Iaucci and I have to say I'm not overly impressed. Everything was alright until I was taken into the procedure room where my chart had "gone missing". This delayed my procedure and she had the audacity to ask me what I was getting scoped for... are you kidding me? During the last scope I had a biopsy done and felt immense pain when finished... more than normal, which I ended up having to see my GP for.

What I was diagnosed with is pretty uncommon, and she's apparently a "specialist" with this type of disease however, I repeatedly told her that I never showed symptoms (except for the first time which is what made me get a endoscopy done) but she was convinced I needed to try this trial drug, so I went through the process and paper work then after a follow up she mentioned the fact that I was asymptomatic and I was no longer was required.

So, Dr. Iacucci, thank you for wasting my valuable time.

Excellent MD/specialist.
This was my third colonoscopy but the first one with Dr. Iacucci and I have to say it was very easy and it was very comfortable one,I have opted out from a full sedation and had only small amount of analgesic as I had plans for the evening and didn't want to be groggy.
Dr,Iacucci was very skilled and very gentle. She was able to manuver to my small bowel in 3 or 4 min and I was very comfortable. My prep was not ideal as I could see looking at the screen but she took her time to irrigate and check my colon very carefully and found 3 small polyps that she skillfully removed with an assistance of very experienced RN. Dr. Iacucci was able to assure me that they were not significant .
I have total trust in Dr Iacucci's skills ,professionalism and expertise.
I would recommend her to my friends and family.
We are very lucky to have such great expert in Calgary!!

I am very lucky to know Dr.iacucci. She is an expert in novel endoscopic techniques and she does my annual surveillance colonoscopy for early diagnosis of cancer. I have my colonoscopy without sedation every year and I have never felt pain or discomfort . Dr.Iacucci is pleasant and very capable and skilled doctor. I recommend her to everyone.

I had the unfortunate luck to have Dr. Marietta Iacucci perform my followup colonoscopy at the Forzani Colon Cancer screening centre. The staff at the centre are wonderful and punctual and so friendly, but this doctor had terrible bedside manner, she was not pleased with my prep .....nor anyone elses apparently under her care that day ( as the others around me were all questioning the nurse. I also asked my nurse this question and when she went to ask, she was told "it's cause I'm too picky i suppose" I had followed all the prep to the letter, even the diet in the 5 days preceding as I know how important it is for a clean bowel.) I felt a lot of pain during this procedure, and asked why., I did not receive an answer.....as I gripped the bed rails even under sedation. I underwent my first colonoscopy in April 6 months prior, and had to return for followup, my first experience was a breeze (even at that time being scared and not sure of what to expect. I even told others that it was nothing, that prep was the hardes part of the whole process.........now I'm not looking forward to repeating in the future.

If you don't want to do the screening then do something else. It's an intimidating procedure if you are not familiar. The gThis is not rientleman that was across the room from me also felt a great deal of pain. As we spoke waiting release. I am so disappointed with her professionalism. Shame on her.

Colonoscopy Wednesday 2014.05.14 with Dr. Marietta Iacucci

While she is pleasant, quite charming really, this whole process to date was a demeaning, frustrating cluster. Let me explain: booked for arrival/check in @ 13:30 and the procedure @ 14:30. The procedure actually was so late starting virtually all the staff was gone by the time I was done (approx 17:30); there was poor communication of the issues and no suggestion of rescheduling. I understand that being the last in line means all timing issues encountered during the day, trickle down to me; the world is far from perfect and issues occur. It happens to us all.

I elected to undergo the procedure without relaxation/sedation – my preference; that may have contributed to the issues. There was no discussion so I don't know. In any event after nigh on an hour and having an additional 3-4 people 'wander' in and out, apparently to visit or discuss other issues, I found my self fully prone, posterior elevated, completely exposed, being roundly castigated by Dr. Iacucci for 'poor bowel prep'; apparently, and according to her, I should have been on a completely liquid diet for 5 days rather then the 48-hour regimen as detailed in my Prep Docs; I might add that I followed the Prep Doc instructions religiously.

I was hustled out with some papers and another complaint about my 'tortuous bowel' – somewhat out of my control I think – and more about bowel prep; nothing definitive – just a bit of a rant.

There was no explanation or consultation about any of this and no further communication about biopsy results from the polyps removed.

I was unavailable for the next few weeks and Dr. Iacucci's Booking Clerk just went ahead and scheduled another Colonoscopy as a follow up procedure plus an upper GI; I learned this through a regular appointment with my Family Physician. The timing was unacceptable so I contacted her to rework everything. When I indicated I had some questions, concerns and issues I would like discussion and clarification on, I was brusquely informed "That is NOT how it works!" and when I pressed the issue I was told the Doctor's nurse MIGHT call me. I was also told I would receive a complete information/prep package via email – if I can't be face-to-face, this is my preferred form of communication anyway. Needless to say I have received no phone call and the promised email is conspicuously absent. In general, my experiences lead me to believe that shoddy service by front line /support staff in any organization is learned, emulated behaviour from the top down.

I should point out that the Intake Clerks I initially dealt with were timely, efficient and responsive; the staff in the holding area/ward was great. The nurse that took charge of me after I was ejected from the scope lab, stellar in our brief association, in all regards.

Out of all the referral consults and lab visits I've been sent on over the years (many and varied, some were unpleasant experiences) this is the only event so negative, demeaning and irritating that I felt compelled to comment on.

Further the star rating system on this site does not allow for truly reflective ratings in my view; most of this relates to circumstances and how her staff have failed - probably not really reflective of her BUT - She is is the commander & so must accept the responsibility of her staff's behaviour and customer/patient service
