Dr P had me on 200 mls of methadone.I complained I was getting too sedated, So he split my doses in half.I decided I want to go down because I was having stomach problems and the methadone was making it worse. My family doctor agrees with me.When I got down to 120 mls he switched my prescription without telling me.Instead of taking 60 mls every twelve hours I was to take the whole 120mls of methadone once every 24 hours.I got home and felt like I was overdosing!I slept all day. They fixed my prescription within the week, so i'm back on half doses.I also felt like a client not a patient.

Dr. P is an amazing doctor. He is very much respected in his field as an expert! He helps a lot of people, and because of this a patient usually has to wait a bit for their appointment. Other than that I cannot say anything bad about him. It is far from fair to give him a bad rating because a patient failed to meet program criteria for tapering or carries. Postnikoff has helped thousands of people through a program that is highly federally & provincially regulated. Medicine Hat patients miss his expertise, help & guidance very much!

Even though he was my methadone doctor, he also went out of his way to help me with other unrelated medical problems that my own family doctor was ignoring. And he definitely knows what he is talking about where addiction is concerned. I found him to be very helpful, and actually seems to give a damn about us "junkies".
