It was so comforting to speak to Debby the receptionist, who made the appointment details and finding the office so easy. Dr. Rachapalli was very kind and took the time to explain things. I am so encouraged not to have fallen between the cracks especially during the covid restrictions. I am also really impressed at how things were so well done even during these trying times.

I found my exchanges with Dr. Rachapalli to be very frustrating. I had an in person visit and he was dismissive of my pain (my husband was with me and even he was frustrated). Dr. and his staff didn't get back to me with information, appointments, or prescription information when they said they would. They don't return calls. He said he wanted me to have bloodwork done but didn't get the requisition out in time for it to be done before an appointment. I've rated his staff higher because the current and previous receptionist at least got me an appointment even though Dr. asked them to postpone it for a week when I was in incredible pain. He's very knowledgeable but not much for bedside manner. I will go to another rheumatologist as soon as I can get a referral.

He sure knows how to prescribe medication but knows little about side effects.
He put me on Humira. It worked well for years until I started losing strength and control of my legs. I told him about it. He thought it was MS. Issued a MRI of my lumbar (instead of my whole spine) that wasted months of time. Now I am paralyzed from the chest down due to Humira! Diagnosed by 4 Neurologists. Not only did Dr Rachapalli not recognize the side effects of Humira, he misdiagnosed me. Ordered the wrong MRI! And never told me to stop taking Humira. His receptionist told me to.stop taking it.
He's competent at prescribing drugs but poor at dealing with problems with said drugs.

I have always found both Dr. Rachapalli and Debbie the receptionist to be very competent and personable. My experience has been positive.

Yesterday was my first in person appointment with Dr Rachapalli. I drove 2 hours and was excited to finally have the in person appointment. I had a phone appointment in Jan 4/21 after waiting 9 months for the appointment. From the phone call he had requested additional blood testing and said the receptionist Debbie would send it off and I could go to any Life Labs the following week and the requisition would be there. To ensure the requisition was there, I waited until Jan 12 of the next week to get my blood test done. I went to the lab, waited outside for 40 minutes until it was my turn to get in the office(darn covid!), once at reception, there was no requisition on file. I returned to my work and immediately called Dr. Rachapalli and was informed by Debbie that Life Labs was on a new system and they don't know what they are doing to record requisitions and she for sure send it via fax on Jan 4. She said to wait a few more days and go back. A little pissed that I had wasted my time going when there was no requisition, I agreed to try again in a few more days. I thought that I would call Life Labs to see if they had anything on file and no they had nothing. The next day I called again, nothing. And the next day I called again, no requisition. I called Dr. Rachapalli office again and said there is still no requisition on fiile. Debbie then went on to again say they don't know what they are doing and are horrible to deal with. I asked if she had indeed sent it off on the 4th and she said, well I can't my record now as she was so busy. I'll send if off today. Ok, that was weird, she basically said she didn't send it but would now. I called Life Labs the next day and yes the requisition was there. I took my test and noted the date received on the requisition as the same day I called and she 're-sent' it. Not cool. And now on to the in person appointment yesterday. I was excited to find out more about the blood testing and have the physical exam to show where my joints, etc are painful. Dr. Rachappli asked me to come into the exam room, referred to my back as the issue and asked me to touch my toes and bend side to side. I said the pain was mostly in my knees, ankles, achilleas, hips etc. He then asked me to get up on the exam bed and touched the top of each knee and said there was no inflammation and he couldn't make a diagnosis without a MRI. I explained that the paid in my knees were blow the knee cap not on top. He said nothing and went to my achilleas. A quick touch of one and that was it. He said after the MRI to book a follow up appointment. I asked if I booked the MRI with Debbie and he said the hospital would call me. That was it. He walked out. All done in about 5 minutes. There was no discussion of my blood work, how I was feeling, specifics on pain locations or motions that caused the pain. I was shocked but knew that after the MRI(who knows how long that would be) I would have a chance to ask more questions. Right now, I have no more answers and felt like Dr. Rachapalli was dismissive and insensitive the pain that is changing life. I will be sure to tell him next time I see him.

Receptionist is so rude and incompetent, she never does what she said she's going to do (like faxing prescriptions, etc.). Dr. Rachapalli is also very lazy and inconsiderate. I spoke to his nurse and mentioned all the problems I've been having since my last appt and then Dr. R called and we spoke for under a minute. Do yourself a favour and find someone who's willing to spend more time listening to you and giving you actual advice

The receptionist is as rude as you can have it. I would actually go so far as to say that she was bullying me. The only reason I put 1 star is because I have to pick at least one. If she doesn't want to deal with patients, she should just retire. Dr Rachapelli was not really interested during the 90-second phone appointment.

This doctor is very condescending to women. I am a very easy person to deal with and he is very rude. He wouldn't answer my questions. He tells me to ask the nurse. When I phone the nurse , I had to wait 8 days for her to return my call. Another time she was supposed to talk to the doctor about my pain and how he can help me. This time it took 7 weeks for her to call me back. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor in my life. I don't recommend him.
