This review is long overdue. Dr.Dahan and his team are absolute gems. He has been so helpful with me since the beginning of my Tmj journey. I haven’t been an easy case as I suffer from dry mouth but Dr. Dahan has always tried to find solutions and always goes above and beyond to help. His staff Crystal, Elaine and his nurse are just wonderful. I work in healthcare myself and can say that this entire clinic welcomes you with open arms and we don’t see this often. I was referred to Dr. Dahan by my dentist after they had concluded that I required further examination by a TMJ specialist. From my very first meeting with Dr. Dahan and his staff to this point in my treatment (2 months jn) I have received nothing less than than exceptional care.

Dr. Dahan is exceedingly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. At our first meeting he explained to me in great detail why exactly my jaw was making popping noises and his plan for correcting this issue. He was very patient in answering all my questions and I left the appointment with a great sense of relief now knowing exactly what the problem was and how exactly we would go about fixing it.

Now 2 months in I'm already seeing drastic improvements. I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience.

I have been a satisfied client of Dr. Haissam Dahan (Ottawa TMJ and Sleep Apnea Clinic) since April 2017 and I have nothing but good to say about him. One would be hard pressed to find a more professional and caring staff than the people who work at Ottawa TMJ and Sleep Apnea Clinic! I am now on my second dental oral appliance from Dr. Dahan to control my moderate sleep apnea. As a result of Dr. Dahan’s services, I do not snore anymore, I sleep well at night, I wake up relaxed, I am happy, and most importantly, my wife is happy. I was diagnosed with sleep Apnea in 2016 and like most people was recommended to use a CPAP machine. However, several attempts at using a CPAP proved unsuccessful for me. The CPAC impeded my sleep significantly and resulted in more tiredness and discomfort than I was experiencing without using the device. The discomfort was so significant in fact, that I had resigned myself to accepting the risks of living with my condition without treatment. I found out about Dr. Dahan by coincidence, after researching on-line for CPAP alternatives in the Ottawa area. At the time, oral dental appliance remedies for sleep apnea were fairly new and not well understood by the local medical community. My family doctor and a sleep disorder specialist both tried unsuccessfully to convince me to “adapt” to using a CPAP as the only “tried and true” solution to controlling my condition. During my first visit with Dr. Dahan, he looked at my sleep laboratory results and associated medical diagnosis reports. Based on these results, he felt confidant that an oral dental appliance would likely work to control my sleep apnea disorder. He went to great lengths to explain to me how these devices work, the risks involved, the likelihood of success, and the reality that the treatment does not work for everyone. I ordered my first device from him in 2017 and I have never looked back. After receiving my first appliance, two separate overnight tests at a local hospital sleep laboratory proved that the appliance effectively controls my sleep apnea condition. My family doctor also became a believer after seeing my “before and after” hospital sleep laboratory results. These devices might not work for every one, but I can attest that in my case, it does and it has made my quality of life much better. An added benefit for me, is the ease with which this small lightweight device can be transported conspicuously when travelling anywhere in the world and the fact that it takes me all of 15 seconds to insert and remove it! I hope that this testimonial may help someone else who like me, is exploring alternatives to using a CPAP machine. You never know, this may work for you too.

Dr Dahan has assembled an excellent team at his practice. When I showed up for my appointments, I was always greeted by name and never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Dr Dahan clearly explained my treatment options, how to increase my chances for success and answered every question in great detail. Dr Dahan and his team truly care about their patients, even remembering little details I'd shared about me across appointments. It's some of the best care I've ever received as a patient.

Great experience and compassionate staff. I was sceptical at first but was willing to to try anything to get rid of my TMJ pain. After a week with my new appliance and Botox I felt so much relief. Now after 2 months the TMJ is under control. His book was also very helpful you need to read it and follow the recommendations. The sooner you start treatment the sooner you will feel relief from this type of pain and get back to a normal life. Last year at this time I was suffering while being a snowbird in Florida on Celebrex and other drugs and today I am enjoying the sun, visiting bars and smiling and laughing with no drugs and sleeping like a baby. Would highly recommend Dr Dahan, his book and this treatment. It works and there is no other solution in Ottawa that will give you relief. Trust me it works. As I write this I have zero pain.

Dr. Dahan is very kind and helpful. My jaw pain has decreased significantly since he made me my appliance. I went to another TMJ dentist in Ottawa before Dr. Dahan and the treatment I got from the other dentist was nowhere near as effective or appropriate for my situation. Thank you, Dr. Dahan!
