I saw Dr. Goel 7 years ago through the specialist referral clinic. Due to a car accident that left me with major damage to my shoulder that caused my arm not to have feeling or proper movement causing me to not be able to put my arm overhead or have any strength and mobility, essentially my arm didn't work. After seeing multiple surgeons (4) that would not operate on me because they did not see any way to properly repair my shoulder. I unfortunately had to pay privately for the surgeries but it was well worth it. Dr Goel performed two separate surgeries both of which he explained he could not guaranty would bring me back to normal but would be my best route forward. Both Surgeries were successful giving me full range of motion and removing any grinding and pain I had. Due to some nerve issues I still had, Dr. Goel was able to get me to a nerve specialist right away to perform a 3rd surgery which fixed all my nerve pain. I spent 5 years trying to find a surgeon to help me as I was unable to properly work, unable to play sports, unable to properly move my arm, living in chronic pain and unable to live a happy life. I am now almost 6 years past all 3 surgeries and I am back to playing sports, have full rotation in my shoulder and feel like the person I used to be. I will forever need physiotherapy to my shoulder and have some limitations but it is a small price to pay to have my life back. Dr. Goel to me saved my life as I was at a point where I did not want to even wake up in the morning I was so depressed over my shoulder pain and inability to live a normal life. I will be forever grateful to him for doing everything he could to bring me back to being me. Thank you for everything you have done.
