I have had the privilege of being a patient in the office of Dr. Darren Kagal and his incredible, loyal staff for over 8 years. My intention is to finally devote well-deserved praise/comments that this entire, special team has definitely earned. I have several colleagues who are patients there and have the exact same very positive view of Dr. K and his practice. However, after just reading the distorted, misleading overview below just posted several weeks ago on September 19th , I felt strongly compelled to correct the impression that was created and also discredit that horrible and extremely untrue write-up.
What I can clearly share with you is that Dr. K’s entire team are exceptional, well-trained, very polite and extremely compassionate. A truly special team of professionals, always striving to go that extra step for patients, with Dr. Kagal a leading and shining example of that excellence.
The team member who really captains and guides the entire office experience is the “receptionist/secretary” who was very unfairly attacked in that crazy, distorted tirade below. Over the 8 years of watching her interact with numerous incoming and exiting patients, I have witnessed her consistent calm, politeness and accommodating style to offer the very best patient experience that she could, at every instance.
In this age of technology communication, there is serious potential that reputation damage and hurt can unfairly be caused by “anonymous social media bravado”. Only a true, low- level coward, with no principles, pride or integrity would post something that untrue, one-sided and hurtful on the internet without signing their name and taking ownership for their perspectives. This “patient” did exactly that.
So, in closing, I believe that after re-reading that distorted write up a few times, that it is extremely safe to declare that the individual with the September 19th posting is the one who is actually “unbelievable”, with no class, decency or appreciation of excellence. So, if you choose to read it, do so VERY quickly and laugh at its total, non-sensical emptiness.

Great cardiologist! Very knowledgeable and professional. Excellent staff. His echo technician was very kind and caring. His receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended.

Unbelievable experience with this doctor's receptionist/secretary. Rude, argumentative, raises her voice. Zero privacy in tiny office so everyone sitting in there is privy to the conversation between this horrible woman and yourself. This is a cardiologist's office - it should be stress free with compassionate staff. Asking my GP for a referral to someone else. Dr. Kagal may be wonderful, but I can't say the same for his front desk person.

Cool Doctor! He’s very pleasant, caring, likeable, professional, knowledgeable and takes his time to explain process and details ( he clearly enjoys this aspect!) . I highly recommend him as I think these are rare qualities to find all in 1 Doctor.

On June 2, 2017 Dr Kagal visited Sunnybrook Hospital where he fitted me with a CRT-D, He may recall the event as it was the second operation and was to adjust the leads, Also, I subsequently left a copy of a book I had written with the Clinic staff. I was wondering if I could ask the doctor a couple of questions concerning the after effects of the operation? I attend the Sunnybrook clinic next week for the 6 week check-up, thank you.....Mike Filey

I'm three days post-op and just shed yet some more happy tears, at how well I feel. Dr. Kagal has changed my life. I feel normal for the first time in 20 years. From initial consultation for AVNRT, to our final post surgery recap, Dr. Kagal was kind, caring, informative and patient, every step of the way; and most importantly, he knows his stuff! I would not have had the courage to have catheter ablation without his positive and patient explanation of the procedure. He supported me and was very caring, even while he was fixing my heart! I don't have enough positive things to say about this man. Just so grateful for him!
