I had received a surgical recommendation from a previous rectal surgeon to have a thrombosis removed and he down played the procedure as being quick and easy. After researching online I determined a 2nd recommendation was needed and that's when I found Dr. Mareno. I showed up to his office and told him about my issues. He said he didn't believe the thrombosis was causing my issue, that it sounded like I had a fissure. He was right! He prescribed a routine a medicine for a few weeks before we considered anything surgical. I'm better now without any surgery and I'm so thankful for Dr. Mareno 's recommendation that prevented surgery. His bedside manner was exactly what I was looking for in a a doctor. Highly recommended!!!!

I was formerly a patient of Dr. Hum's, but she is so busy that it is difficult to schedule a timely appointment with her. I decided, begrudgingly, to see Dr. Mareno because of the nature of my issue. My experience with him was never less that comfortable and empathetic. He performed the procedure for prolapsed hemorrhoids surgery on me with much less pain resulting than the previous two banding procedures, and his enthusiasm for my outcome was contagious. Highly recommend and would go visit again.

I have had three appointments with Dr. Mareno to treat serious hemorrhoids. On our first meeting, he recommended surgery. Per his recommendation, I took time off of work to recover. On our second pre-surgery appointment, he seemed unsure of why I was there. When I reminded him that he suggested we have the appointment, he reacted as if he had just remembered and then began cautiously advising me against surgery and suggested a more conservative approach with several treatments of banding. I was troubled by the drastic change, but relieved at not needing surgery On our third appointment, an in-office banding, the procedure itself went well. When I asked him what the rest of the plan was (previously he suggested multiple bandings) he said that "there was no further plan". He could not remember the details of our first meeting, or our conversation on our second. His plan on our third was different yet again - he suggested to attempt only one banding and go with surgery.

So friendly, caring, helpful, knowledgeable, etc. Made my visit that started with me feeling very apprehensive, very easy to handle.. Ensured I was comfortable. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. I can't say enough great things about him.
