I have had excellent ongoing care from Dr McAuley over the past 13 years. The most recent was a procedure in the Jubilee.

I called Dr McAuley's office the day after He put in a catheter. As I was concerned that I was experiencing some leakage at the entrance of the tube. The staff member I spoke to was not at all helpful in any way.
She told me to go to the ER to get the catheter replaced. A 3 to 5 hour wait. She didn't care less regarding my concern.

My first appt was over the phone, then I met Dr. McAuley in the hospital, and then I had a 3rd phone appt. Not only that but I found out I missed my appointment today, as I called to see what it was. Everyone has been beyond pleasant. I didn't even get a hint of them being upset about my appt. They're fantastic there, the Dr and the staff!

Dr. McAuley is simply the best doctor. He is smart, caring and funny (which I appreciate). I have had two cystoscopes done by him and each time he has put me at ease, which isn’t an easy feat. I am so incredibly grateful to have been under his care. If you a referred to Dr. McAuley, rest assured he will take good care of you!

Dr McAuley and his whole team were amazing! My whole experience was very well organized, fast, friendly, pain & worry-free, and professional. As soon as I got to my appointment until the moment I left, I was in very good care. I highly recommend Dr McAuley and his wonderful team and cannot thank them enough for their time, care and friendliness!

Dr. Ian McAuley has been excellent from the moment I stepped inside his office to the day I had TURP surgery. He knows how to put his patients at ease by explaining to them their diagnosis and their best option for a better quality of life. He’s very professional and at the same time down to earth. I highly recommend him for a consultation.

Friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, thorough. Personal interviews, telephone consultations, and surgical procedure all excellent. But staff need to give his office address when they book appointments.

My consultation with this doctor (I prefer not to utter his name) was the single worst medical experience of my life.

I had bladder stones and he administered the most painful and humiliating cystoscopy I ever had. He said "get up on the table and take off your clothes" while he went to get the equipment. No gown, nothing, just get naked and get on the table.

He came back with the cystoscope and literally (and I mean the word in it's proper usage ... actually) shoved it up my urethra quickly and without any lubrication or numbing agent.

It hurt like hell (and I have has a number of these and know exactly how they should be done) and after the exam I went to the bathroom where I was in pain and bleeding from my penis.

He demonstrated a complete lack of compassion and empathy.
As I say the worst medical experience of my life.

Just moved to BC from Ontario. Jubilee Hospital , staff and Dr. McAuley were kind and professional. My doctors in Ontario were amazing but so far BC is even better. Much appreciation - Gary
