She's arrogant and dismissive. God help you of you are a minority. She actually sneered at me when I stated that I wanted to try for a VBAC. Well I had my VBAC (with another doc working that day) and it made her so angry that she NEVER even bothered to contact me or even check in on me after I delivered (she was my doc and was working the day I delivered).

She has nothing but contempt for anyone who may not agree with her.

Great doctor! She took care if my high-risk pregnancy in 2018 and both ny baby and I did great! I find having a great experience with a doctor takes two....I came prepared with questions, she answered them all, she was never rushing or dismissive of my concerns....to the point and very honest. She didnā€™t deliver my baby at the end but gave me so much peace along the way, Iā€™m really grateful!

I believe that because of the way she guided my pushing, I was able to deliver my 10 lb baby without any rips or tears. At one of my prenatal visits, she asked me how much alcohol I consumed. I don't know if it was because of my race, but she assumed that I drank alcohol during my pregnancy.

Dr. Cargill is awesome. She is one of the top high risk OBā€™s at the high risk unit. If you are a high risk patient like myself, you wouldnt want any other doctor. She might not have the bedside manner you are looking for, but for me, I would rather have knowledge and experience over nice words. Nurses are there to support you emotionally. Expect to wait at the high risk unit, things come up and she has no way to control what goes on. Complaining about wait times is not helpful, its the way it goes. Bring something to do or book your appointment first thing in the morning.

She is a wonderful OB who went above and beyond throughout my entire pregnancy. My daughter was always small (25% or less) my whole pregnancy and she always took my concerns seriously. Very caring, compassionate and I trust her with my life.

Dr. Cargill preformed a D and C after my 5th miscarriage. I was bombarded infront of the operating room with things to sign. she very intentionally disregarded my OBs request to send the BABY for testing to pathology. She who was NOT my doctor and who had NOT overseen any of my pregnancies felt like this was her decision to make. She was cruel and heartless when I desperately tried to follow up to make sure she didnā€™t throw out my baby. Her response was ā€œI may have disposed of itā€
Patient advocacy = useless at the Ottawa hospital they told me she was ā€œ a nice personā€.
I honestly hope she reads this because what she didnā€™t think was a big deal has turned my mental health upside down for the past two years. She stripped me of every answer as to why.

I was at the high risk clinic today, July 16, the same day as the previous reviewer. I waited 2 hours. This is my second pregnancy, my second, and last!!, round of hypertension and tests. I've long since resigned myself to losing half-a-day whenever I have to go to the clinic at the Civic. Early on in my first rodeo I complained about the wait and the nurse explained that there weren't many options, either spend hours waiting on uncomfortable chairs and get seen soon after being referred or spend weeks worrying while waiting to get in but have an on-time appointment. The clinic was always overbooked and understaffed. After a few visits I came to realize just how busy the nurses and doctors there are.

I was followed by Dr Cargill for the last several weeks of my pregnancy. Seeing her outside the clinic was more reliable and was almost on time :). I plan to go back to her if I need to be followed by a high risk obstetrician. She has my trust and that's a big deal for me. She was engaged, honest with me and genuine. I've never had a doctor give me her phone number and ask me to call her if my symptoms worsened. She doesnā€™t spend much time on chit chat but she always asked if I had had any questions and was very thorough.
