Dr. Erben is by far the most caring, conscientious and knowledgeable internist in Boulder. I am an orthopedic surgeon and have practiced in Boulder for over 20 years. We have shared numerous patients and they all rave about how wonderful she is, how she takes time to explain their problems and readily orders tests and refers to specialists for accurate diagnoses and timely treatment.

I began seeing Dr. Erben several years ago, and she seemed excellent at first - listened well, kind bedside manner, and prompt treatment for easy health problems (i.e., ones I had already been diagnosed with prior to switching to her as my PCP). However, when I became very sick and remained so for over six months, she became very dismissive and told me that I suffered from depression and fibromyalgia. A week later, I traveled to the Mayo Clinic where, after two weeks of tests, I was diagnosed with a severe endocrine disorder that is life-threatening if untreated. I will not return to see Dr. Erben, and neither will any one else in my family. Her dismissiveness, failure to diagnose, and worse yet, failure to recognize the limitations of her medical knowledge are inexcusable.

I have been to many internists over my life but never one as knowledgeable, helpful, caring and compassionate as Dr. Erben. She took as much time as I needed and clearly knew her medicine. She patiently listened to my complaints and answered every question I had. I cannot recommend her more highly.
