Dr. Tilley has been my physician for many years and has always been an excellent doctor. Most recently he has been treating me for anxiety/depression, an issue that came to light while he was away on an extended break a few years ago. When I told him of my situation (which by this point included the death of my psychiatrist), he was tremendously supportive and helpful. He has assisted me in switching medications, in attempting to alleviate side effects, and in dealing with ongoing physical and emotional challenges. I will say he has a very large caseload including many patients with HIV/AIDS, which require a lot of attention and effort; this sometimes affects his punctuality, but I don't feel that it abbreviates or truncates our appointments. All in all I've found Dr. Tilley to be a thoughtful, responsive doctor who is always willing to listen to a patient's concerns and to answer any questions one may have. I recommend him highly!

When my mother died, several years ago, Dr. Tilley named several treatment options for the depression I was experiencing. He described each to me and we agreed that I need talk therapy. Because there were no psychiatrists available at that time, Dr. Tilley saw me three times a week for about six weeks, at the end of which I was beginning to go to bed at a reasonable time and I was able to get up at the necessary time. I had followed his advice and appreciated the time and care he took. This is but one example of the fine medical treatment Dr. Tilley has provided me for almost twenty years.

I'm reluctant to give a negative review because I think David does care. However, my experience with him was not positive. He was my doctor for many years, but increasingly, I felt he was dismissive of any concern he couldn't give a quick diagnosis to. He wasn't willing to try to figure out what something was if it wasn't easy (my next doctor WAS able to figure it out). He's always behind schedule, mostly because he's filling you in on his life and then tells you you only have a few minutes left so he can only deal with 1 of the 3 things you wanted to talk about today. When a friend of mine left his practice to go to the same doctor as his boyfriend, but then later wanted to come back, David actively prevented him from being allowed to see one of the other doctors in co-practice with him. This was just malicious and completely uncalled for. Another friend had him misreport his record to an insurance company, resulting in a rejected life insurance application. A great disappointment.

He was my doctor for many years, but when I was going through a difficult break up I found him very unsupportive and actually made things worse. I'm much happier with my current doctor

David Tilley has been my doctor since 1990 and since then he has saved my life three times due to AIDS,which by the way I have had for since 1980.He is always eager to solve a medical problem and will refer me to the best specialists in Toronto. He has donated so much of his time caring for his patients afflicted with AIDs and for the AIDs community at large by raising awareness and monetary funds.Without Dr Tilley Toronto would not be the same.Thank you Doctor and God Bless you for your unwavering devotion to your community.

David Tilley showed he wasn't listening, when I said I was experiencing symptoms x,y, and z and minutes later he would ask "are you experiencing x?". He made me feel rushed during appointments and would not let me finish all the problems I had wanted to cover during appointments. He misdiagnosed something I had. When I changed GP's because of this, over 10 years ago, I requested, twice, to have my chart transferred to my new GP's office (once in writing; my new GP has the letter on file) and, to this day it has never been done. I am much happier with my new GP.

When depression became an issue for me I strongly had the feeling that I was a "problem" patient - my boyfriend also felt that his attitude toward me changed for the negative. A real disappointment.
