Biography

My name is Jeremy Archer and I work as the Medical Director of the Congenital Heart Center's Outpatient Clinics. I joined the UF Health Congenital Heart Center and UF Department of Pediatrics in 2020 with my areas of clinical expertise in exercise testing and sports cardiology, fetal cardiology, and pulmonary hypertension, chest wall abnormalities and outpatient cardiology. I became interested in becoming a physician while learning how to give emergency care to patients in remote wilderness settings. I was later drawn to pediatrics and pediatric cardiology as these fields give me the chance to get to know children and their families better while helping them solve problems, sometimes really hard or complex ones, while keeping their individual needs in mind. Prior to joining UF, I was a pediatric cardiologist at the Billings Clinic in Montana, where I built a pediatric and fetal cardiology practice to serve a wide geographic region in Montana and northern Wyoming. I was the medical director of Pediatric Specialty Medicine, the director of the pediatric echocardiography laboratory and, from 2018 to 2020, the co-founder and co-director of the Pediatric Chest Wall Deformity Clinic.I received my medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. I completed my pediatric residency at the University of Vermont in Burlington, where I served as chief resident. Following residency, I returned to UF to complete a pediatric cardiology fellowship, also earning a master's degree in health outcomes and policy.I want to help my patients feel better, but also to live as healthy and as happy a life as possible - whatever that means for each person. My patients should know that I will always be honest with them and will always keep their needs and best interests in mind.I also spend my time in fellowship education, as a member of the AAP Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery and as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals. My research has focused on the diagnosis and impact of congenital heart disease in premature infants. In my free time, I enjoy personal fitness, meditation, and the outdoors.
