I have known dr Somes for 24 years. In fact, when she was just starting out in dr john Scotts office in little house in broad ripple, my newborn daughter at the time was suffering from blood in her stools(stictly breatfed at 1 month old). dr Scott had me dialating her rectum 2x a day with a glove covered finger, beleive the membrane needed to be stretched. Turns out, after 2 weeks of this with no improvement(my daughtered screamed every time i had to do this!)I happened to see dr Somes on my follow up visit(Dr Scott was off) and she looked at my daughters bottom under a bright light and saw the problem, a tiny fissure(paper cut) which was causing the blood tinged stools! Have been going to her ever since for all 4 of my children! She tends to be a little overly cautious at times, but better safe than sorry.

Dr. Somes is a wonderful doctor. As a first time mom I had a lot of questions. Dr. Somes never made me feel like I couldn't ask anything and everything. I feel better when I leave her office and I know I'm getting the best care for son! I highly recommend her.

My son has Downs syndrome so requires special care. Dr. Somes and her staff have been wonderful! If there is a problem she always addresses it immediatly and is very encouraging and knowledgeable. She is also very approachable and always returns my call even after hours. I would recommend her to anyone. She also has a great network of specialist that she is not afraid to use if she doesn't have the answer to a specific issue.

Always friendly and listens well to what her patients have to say. I have been seeing this doctor since I was born (now starting college) and have always found her very helpful in her diagnosis of problems.

I have been very pleased with Dr. Somes. She is very friendly, good with the kids, and looks at all aspects of an illness instead of - "here's an antibiotic". When my son was about 3 months old, he was very sick & she sent us for a spinal tap to check for meningitis. Luckily it wasn't, but how many times has that gone undiagnosed because it's probably just a cold?! I find a very friendly crew at her office. They are very helpful when dealing with insurance mess-ups! ANYTIME I call with a concern with one of my kids, they are very helpful. After an ER visit at a local hospital, they followed up on my son before I got a chance to call them. I have never waited more than 15 minutes for an appointment I was on time for. Overall - best pediatrician I know of!

My daughter had an adverse reaction to a drug prescribed by Somes. The doctor couldn't bother herself to call me about it.
