Dr. Rai has been my PCP Doctor while working with health coverage for 5 years and now I'm retired on Medicare. Dr. Rai continues to provide excellent medical care. I drive over 30 miles, one way, from my home because he takes such good care of me.

It took me a long time to decide to write this. Dr. Rai was my primary care physician up to about August, 2014. He seemed great! I developed severe back pain and all indications were that it was a result of a pinched nerve between L4 and L5. Yes, that was true. He and Baylor Carrolton hospital decided to discharge me after a horrific week, which included a scheduled operation. My Obama Care insurance, Cigna, decided to pull the doctor that was going to operate on me out of the network. By the end of the week, the hospital administrator and Dr. Rai contacted Cigna to get a list of all the docs that could operate on me that were in my network. Cigna faxed a list but by the end of the day Friday, Cigna pulled all of them out of my network. What first upset me with Dr. Rai, is that he did not fight this. In fact, in effect, he hurt me as after I was kicked out of the hospital, he would not even return a call nor let me have an appointment with me. I understood that the basic oath doctors took was to do no harm. I barely could walk and now couldn't get help. Finally, my pain doc, nearly a year later after I had also become homeless for a while, decided he felt most (90%) of my pain was a result of "bone on bone" in my right hip. Dr. Rai had repeatedly told me that it was Sciatica in my right him even though I told him that all my life I'd had Sciatica in my left hip. I went to the hip doctor immediately and he thought it was likely one of the worse hips he'd ever seen and wanted to operate on me immediately. At this point, probably over 5 orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons had seen my hip which Dr. Rai had recommended. Not one of them suggested how bad my hip was... they did say it was arthritic. Bottom line, if Dr. Rai had diagnosed me properly, I wouldn't have lost nearly all my possessions and been evicted, I really trusted him.Trusting Dr. Rai, was one of the greatest mistakes I have made in my life. Amazingly, I put my daughter's trust (she was 14 at the time) in his hands. I spent a long time deciding to write this. I'm sure he hasn't learned any lessons. It's scary as he appears like such a great doctor. He isn't.

Remember one thing, he is on the side of the insurance company, not yours.

Dr. Rai is unbeatable. He's incredible. If you're going to a different doctor, you should be ashamed of yourself. If you really want someone who will help your health, it's Dr. Rai. Period.

This doctor is the best in North Texas. He's friendly and polite and caring. He took care of my mom for a long time and really did a wonderful job. He's extremely knowledgeable (mispelled) and doesn't mind explaining details of medicine to you but will also say "it takes more than one day to get a medical education." Wonderful sense of humor. If Dr. Rai is taking care of you, you can rest assured hyou have the best care possible. Other doctors respect him a lot as well but most of all, nurses give him the highest rating, and that's not easy coming from a nurse!
