Visiting Dr. Stevens was the worst experience I have EVER had at any doctors’ office and it left me shook for several days. I saw his PA first and she so happily explained how people leave bad reviews because they are not willing to receive the information, she gives them about diet and exercise. She came across very conceited and gave a lot of advice on my condition without even seeing my X-rays. Then after an hour wait! Dr Stevens came flying in the room and just started talking. Never introduced himself, asked who the patient was (was with my daughter), never asked me how I was feeling or any questions about my condition at all. I told him another Dr. told me I had slipped disks and needed spinal surgery. He said professional doctors such as himself don’t use the term “slipped discs” and he can’t help what other doctors say. I told him he was being very condescending in his approach with me. He didn’t care and his approach and tone just got worse. I felt he was looking down on me. He wasn’t listening to what I was saying. He couldn’t grasp I wasn’t having a problem with his diagnosis, it was his approach and demeanor. He talked about HIS arthritis for a good 5 minutes and how he is a great surgeon who makes money on surgeries. He is condescending, a narcissist, aggressive and uncaring. I’m surprised he has positive reviews. Worst Dr EVER! I will be filing a discrimination complaint.
f you were treated like garbage by Dr Stevens or His P.A. Amy and are on any sort of state assistance, Medicare or don't have top notch insurance and have experienced rude, aggressive and unwillingness to help with your pain or injury, I highly recommend filing a discrimination complaint with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services as well as the Arizona Department of economic security and department of health services. You can also file a grievance through Medicare.
