agree that has was brusque. no compassion whatsoever. brushed off my concerns. staff over the phone were rude also. for someone who treats cancer patients, this office should learn about empathy, compassion, bedside manner at a minimum. i got a second opinion elsewhere at UNC and was MUCH more satisfied.

not anyone I would ever see again. Did not help me. Did not know current protocol for my cancer. I waited 3.5 hours for my appointment and saw him for 5 minutes. He was uninformed and brusque. He may be well known, but I was not impressed at all.

My appointment was before noon and I saw Dr Berchuck for maybe 10 minutes. I waited so long I thought they forgot me, so I checked at 2:00 and was told it would be soon. I saw him after 3. He was rushed, and did not have the correct answers about my condition. I knew the right answers and was amazed that this man being the pres of the gyn/onc group did not know the specifics on my type of cancer, nor the current treatment protocols. This was my first appointment with him and that's what I got. 10 minutes of his time and 4 hours of waiting. I would highly recommend that women with cancer go elsewhere to someone who has better manners and takes more time. When a Dr is paid for his time, the patient should be treated as such. His base of knowledge showed he should research more often on cases that are unusual, not sluff through them. I was speechless that the appointment was such a waste of my time and money, in addition to being upset that I wasted 4 hours of sitting there waiting.
