Dr. Brookes did my son's cochlear implant surgery and we couldn't be more happy. He explained the procedure, listened to our concerns and questions, and did a great job with his surgery.

This Dr has the best bed side manners. My son who was 2yrs old at the time had injured his ear canal, Dr Brooks had told us the dry blood should eventually come out on its own like ear wax. He followed up with us a few months later and saw that the dry blood was still there, so he had this tiny little ear tool and took it out. The nurse who calmed my son down while basically hugging him with a blanket so he wouldnt move his head was fabulous. My son obviously had a complete meltdown but after all was said and done, only took 15min in and out. I love this Dr and I can see why hes rated #2 in the city.

Dr. Brookes is amazing. He did my surgery a few times, and the recovery went so well. I am just so happy that I am doing so well and I am happy he didn't over complicate anything. He explained to me how he was going to put a drain in my face so that the fluid in my face could drain out and the tissue would seal up and there wont be another infection. I have cystic hygroma, and now I feel like I don't thanks to Dr. Brookes, I really do recommend him he is a good surgeon. -Sovereignty

My daughter has seen Dr. Brookes quite a few times over the years for hearing loss, sleep study and tonsillectomy. I thank God she was referred to him in her infancy because we sure lucked out. He is a fantastic doctor and surgeon, very trustworthy and knows his stuff. I too work in healthcare, and some of these reviews surprise me. He is not going to purposefully steer you in the wrong direction. I believe he wants us to properly weigh risks versus benefits, what requires surgical intervention and what does not, and offer his opinion. Specialists have to make their own assessments and plans, not just follow what people think are orders from family doctors. I fully trust his recommendations.

Dr Brookes is one of best there is. He saw my son on a referral from the emergency room and got him admitted within an hour ! He needed an operation to help him eat and breath better. All the ORs were booked all day and night but Dr Brookes stayed until he got him in and was done within an hour. He took the time to explain how it went and how he will recover. Through out this whole experience, he was thoughtful, kind, and took care and time to explain every step. I’m forever grateful for my son being referred to Dr. Brookes.

I would never ever recommend Dr. Brooke's as an ENT doctor to a friend!
After a year of constant swollen tonsils and many visits to our family doctor, it was decided that Dr.Brookes should be consulted for his opinion. At the consultation appointment, he was short and said "if you want them out, I can take them out." He went on to make comments like "doctors always sent patients here prematurely but you are here so I guess we should do this." He did not provide insight or his opinion as to whether he actually thought they needed to come out or could be treated non-surgically. It was frustrating. It was as if it was already decided by our family doctor when the referral went it that they would come out even though that was not the intention. I felt awful after the appointment, wondering if we needed a second opinion from someone that cared and would actually provide a couple options and not just shove a piece of paper in my face to sign.
We decided to go ahead with the procedure and on the day of the surgery just before my son went into the OR, Dr.Brooke's approached me and say "so this little guy needs a fistula closed on his neck, let me get a marker to mark the site" If you are not already anxious, I had to inform him that "No....my son is actually here for a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy." Good thing I am a nurse and am comfortable in a medical setting. But this...This should never ever happen!!!! You do not approach a patient and not know which surgery you are preforming....never ever!

All three of our children have had consultations with Dr. Brooks and two of them have had surgery. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is professional to us as parents, but relatable to our kids, which we really appreciated.

Our 4 year old had tonsils and adenoids out for sleep apnea and I'm glad that Dr. Brooks listened to my concerns and didn't try to talk me out of the surgery I specifically requested because it was "just" sleep apnea. Our son has had such an improved quality of life since his surgery. Unfortunately our oldest had to wait a whole year to see Dr. Brooks, but I blame that on the system and not on him personally. He had only his adenoids removed and I still question whether or not I should have pushed to have his tonsils out at the same time as they are rather large, but do not cause problems at this time. I trusted in his professional opinion and we just left it. Hopefully no regrets in the future.

He was kind enough to give advice on our youngest son while he cared for our other two regarding chronic ear infections. He told us to get a referral and he would see our baby. It only took a couple of months to get in and Dr. Brooks was kind and had wonderful advice regarding our son's ears and took the time to really explain the "why" and our options. I have a feeling we will be back for another ENT consult for our youngests' tonsils in a few years...we will see. Thanks, Dr. Brooks!
