The entire staff at Olympia Orthopedics is overworked. You are just another dollar in their eyes. The doctors are overbooked, making patients sometimes wait over an hour for their services, and if your case doesn't involve surgery, you are rushed out. If you do need surgery, they treat you like royalty. Doctors do not have time to return patient calls; their medical assistants do all that work. There seems to be a high rate of turnaround with their staff. Practically every time I went there, there was a new receptionist, new medical assistant, or new physician's assistant. Makes me wonder if they are hiring people that aren't qualified, or if they get rid of their staff on a whim. I have a herniated disc in my back and was given two options: surgery or drugs. I refused the surgery, so I was rushed out with a prescription for a very addictive pain reliever. If you want someone who actually cares about their patients, I would not recommend Olympia Orthopedic Association.

I moved to WA in 2007. When I found out that I needed a hip replacement I got Dr. Wood's name from a friend, who had a hip replacement by Dr. Wood and was very happy with the results. So...I made an appointment and the first time I met Dr. W I knew he was the man to take care of my pain. It was a great experience and I have been enjoying my new hip for 4 months now. Would recomment him anytime.

Finding someone to fix your knees when you are a young active girl in college, and actually trusting them to make sure it is done right, was impossible. I can tell you that I went to two other doctors before Dr. Wood and both were horrible experiences. The moment I met Dr. Wood I was put at ease and had him do a lateral release on both of my knees. He took into acount my age and took the chance to do the procedure side to side instead of up and down (which he had never done before) to give me the best results in terms of scars. It was a wonderful experience and if I need anything done again, no matter where I live, I will come back to Olympia and have him work his majic again. I couldn't have asked for more.

This guy is the absolute BEST in his field! He repaired both of my thumbs (basil joint arthritis). He also performed a laminectomy on my lower back. Each time with 100% results. He is a very kind christian family man, with a strong orthopedic practice. I have sent three other family members to Dr. Wood, each person with 100% results. He explains each and every step and has a wonderful bedside manner! The recovery/after care is just as perfect as the first visit! Thank you Dr. Wood :)
