Knee replacement - look for quality not quantity.
Great staff easy locations. Clean very organized. Unimpressed with his product as this was my second replacement.

I saw Dr. Brodie Wood this morning. It was my first appointment with him and I rate him as HIGH AS THE NUMBER CAN GO, so I rate him a "5." His chair-side manners are spectacular and he listened to my story about my symptoms and I felt 100% satisfied with his manners and care this morning and my husband was with him and agrees, 100%, with me. Whenever I have a medical issue that would require his qualifications I plan to choose him as long as it is possible and my husband will probably be one of his next patients, AND, we highly recommend his services to anyone. Dr Wood is an excellent physician! He has a wonderful bedside manner and explains things very well, so I could understand. His surgical work is exceptional and my hip is better than before my surgery!

Dr. Wood has been one of my fave Dr so far. Knowing I have weight issues, he talked to me about managing my diet and weight because they are contributing to my problems. I didn’t feel “fat shamed” but left more informed. Knowing how badly I want to be pain free, and although I know my weight is high, sometimes you have to hear what you don’t want to hear. I was surprised to hear others feel shamed.

I am very upset and felt discriminated due to my weight. He came in 30 minutes late for our appointment. If I was 30 minutes late I would of been cancelled and asked to reschedule. He walks into the room and immediately starts talking about me being morbidly obese and giving me his get skinny diet. He was recommending a high fat diet, like keto without asking any questions in regards to my health conditions and/ or eating habits. He then starts talking about how he father died at 62 year old from obesity and how he ran in the Bosto marathon. He spent 1 and a half minutes talking to me about me, which was during my exam. Then back on him. He is an arrogant doctor that thinks he can treat people anyway he wants. He is not a nutritionist or a weight doctor and should not be allowed to recommend anything of the sort. I will never be back to have any surgery or consult with Brodie woods due to his arrogant attitude. His nurses and him both had a negative manner about them and very rude. I have never been to a doctor and/ or nurse that made me feel like I was an inconvience and a waste of their time. I will NEVER recommend Dr. BRODIE woods to anyone. And believe me I have already started letting people know that he is arrogant man and makes people feel like they aren't worth his time. Arrogant physicians do not believe with individuals experiencing pain.

I was very unhappy with my knee surgery from Dr. Wood. I had an exceptionally painful recovery. Six months after surgery, I went to see him about the pain and he was dismissive and disrespectful. It was clear he wasn't pleased to hear that I was having problems. Now 20 months after the surgery, I am still in pain. Another orthopedic surgeon said that it should probably be redone. I just can't face another painful surgery and lengthy recovery at my age (over 70). Very, very disappointed.

One year after Tkr, they said everything looked great, 3 months latter swelling wouldn't go down then I was not tracking correctly. They would have to go back in. And yes I did my therapory. 2nd opinion said it wasn't right from the beggining. 3 yrs out and the pain is coming back. Wish I would have listened to others to find a different Dr. They haven't checked in me since my last visit my rating 1

I was discovered, by complete accident, to be suffering from Avascular Necrosis in not just one, but in BOTH hips. One was in stage 3 and the other one stage 4 and was fractured. I had been suffering in agonizing pain for about two years and had been complaining to my other Ortho surgeon who initially kept telling me that I just had bursitis and kept giving me cortisone shots in my hips which, come to find out, was actually worsening my situation. When it was discovered that I had Avascular Necrosis, another of my Dr's sent me to see Dr. Woods. It was the best referral in a long time. I had both hips replaced in the same month. However, just after the 1st surgery, something went wrong and I woke up 11 days later on life support in the I.C.U
To this day I've not been told exactly WHAT went wrong, however, Dr woods and his staff took pretty good care of me. My only real "complaint" was how initially my pain management wasn't so good. I have a high tolerance to pain meds (partly genetic the Dr told me) so I was in great pain for several days before they finally brought in a pain specialist and properly adjusted my pain meds. Once that was done, I was good to go and didn't have any further problems. I had my other hip replaced only 7 days after leaving the I.C.U and had no problems in the 2nd surgery nor with post op. About 8 months later, and due to my auto immune system, I developed too much scar tissue which required Dr woods to replace my right hip, yet again. A few months later my left hip developed the same problem but the Dr, or rather his P.A, Steve John's, talked me out of it and explained to me the dangers of my repeatedly going under the knife. He encouraged me to put up with the pain as much as I could and to exercise my hips and stretch them as much as I could. He said when I couldn't take the pain any longer to THEN come back and see them for further surgery. Well, it's been two years now and I can no longer lift my left leg and hip on its own and have to lift my leg/hip with my hand and arm to get in and out of a vehicle and I can no longer take the pain. So, I'm going to have Dr woods replace my left hip yet again. I am highly satisfied with BOTH Dr. Woods himself, his P.A's (including his lady P.A who's name I can't remember right now. She was VERY nice and I enjoyed being her patient very much) and most of his staff. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing hip replacements.

Very disappointed with the post-op treatment of a family member. The patient is not the type to complain or be overly sensitive to pain. Following surgery, heavy swelling, pain and redness led the patient and his wife to visit Dr. Wood and they were told to "go become friends with the ice machine and this was normal" although the patient expressed concern about something more serious. Patient's daughter was insistent that an ultrasound should have been done to "rule out" something serious but the doctor stated it was not necessary. With further pressure, he acquiesced and the patient had to sit in the ER for five hours for a simple ultrasound. It revealed he did IN FACT have a blood clot which can be lethal. To add, he waited a month before a followup call was made after this error. Dr. Wood is very proud of his record on how fast he can get these knee replacements done and how many he can do in a day (appears another reviewer heard the same). Perhaps he should slow down and be more concerned with patient care from start to finish. Thanks to the perseverance of the patient's daughter, the patient's life was possibly saved by getting a simple test and not "going home to make friends with the ice machine!" This patient deserved better post-op care and a prompt phone call to discuss the mistake and address next steps. I can't figure how this is acceptable.
