Suffer from 3 chronic pain syndromes. Dr. Winke seemed a bit distant, doesn't ask questions, except, "How are you?" Office Manager not very helpful, doesn't like to return calls. After 1 year of treatment, was "fired" abruptly by mail, no reason given. After more than a month of trying to talk with her or the manager to find out reason, was told that my urine test had come out negative for narcotics (that were prescribed). What the heck?? While I tried not to use them all of the time, I really WAS taking the narcotics. What the heck?? Couldn't get thru to Dr. Winke. Because the test was false, I was basically told that it sounded like I was hoarding the drugs (and possibly selling them instead. I was startled & totally embarrassed at the accusation. Now afraid that my "record" has a black mark on it. Am still without a doctor, and currently in a good deal of pain. Think twice before using this doctor! There's GOT to be a good, knowledgeable FMS/CFS/MPS pain doc in this area.

I waited well over an hour after my appointment time before being taken back. She is nice enough, but seemed lost. Office staff refuses to answer patient questions, very protective of the doctor when integrity is called into question. Racked up thousands of dollars in fees for drug testing that wasn't covered by insurance because a local lab was not used. By the time I finally got into the office for an appointment, the pain had stopped. Was hoping for some help in diagnosing the problem rather than being handed a prescription. Office staff very unprofessional.

This Doctor fired me as soon as I mentioned that I had a legal problem for the amount of medication that I had in my purse on a traffic stop. I also needed her to assist me in my chronic pain management for a major neck surgery that I just had and I now have no pain management all and live in a remote location alone .

Not an authority of Pain Management profession. If the patient suggests, she will dispense. Get your questions out quick, because the patient/doctor time is very quick! Once she leaves the room, your visit is over, and you don't even know it until the nurse comes-in and tells you. Insists on an Office Visit for prescription re-fills; gotta get that Office Visit charge and co-pay!

Very quick to discharge you with no answers. I am currently in the proccess of taking legal actions. I strongly advise you to take your time to find other pain management offices.

VERY high staff turn over...releases patiance after false drug testing... never on time...looks lost when question is asked

Rating is objective and is a result of personal experience and thorough investigation.( supporting link included).Pain Management Drs are Board Cert'd anesthesiologists/neurosurgeons.Dr Winke is Board cert'd phys med&rehab only.Legally allowed to prescribe medication,there are state regs on narcotics dispensed for pain.She ethically hasn't followed protocol by educating patients prior to dispensing opiods by having them sign a contract.She repeatedly has 'fired' addicted patients without prior notice,posing serious medical health threat.
