We have been with Dr. Nayar since she opened up her office on Main Street. She is an amazing doctor and really feels for her patients. She is NOT judgmental ever. Patients are given time slots for their appointments, if it happens to run over then she is going to be late going forward but she doesn't cut her patients off. The staff does their best to get appointments and walk-ins all seen by Dr. Nayar in a timely manner. Dr. Nayar is not superwoman - she is only human! cut her some slack and stop with the rude and inappropriate personal comments!

If I can put negative -100 for the front staff I would. The front staff has privilege attitude, a sense of entitlement. I have been a patient of Dr. Nayar even before she even has her own clinic so looking at 24 years. She was freshly graduate from UBC. She's a kind, understanding, knowledgeable doctor so I stayed with her for a long time. But, I've noticed through the years of seeing her; the quality of care slowly going down. I agree with the 5th comments below. She is always late, you never know whether she will be nice to you or will eat you alive. She will only spend 2 minutes or less of her time to her patients as she is more on quantity not on quality mentality mode.
On my opinion, she might have a bit of weight problem, family, etc. To Dr. Nayar if you ever read this comment. You are a good doctor, a good person, you care about your patients and not just making money. If I were you, I would fire those 2 front staff and divorce your husband, get a good looking trainer and buy the biggest diamond you can ever buy.

It looks like the docs have read these reviews and let go some of the unprofessional staff.. good riddance. I find the current receptionists to be very capable and helpful.

I really like dr nayar and find her to be very bright and also compassionate. I think some of the frustration stems from her tardiness - but what do you expect from patients that insist on a walk-in appointment? If you don't have an appt you must wait. The people like me who do make appointments also have to wait for her to accomodate the walk-ins. I think this more a patient problem than a doctor problem. If they flat out refused to accept walk ins then people will get mad that they didnt get to see her at all. What is also frustrating are the patients who go in for their appt and insist on discussing every ailment known to man - this is whats causing the wait times people!

I regularly phone in for an appt for a B12 shot only and i am quickly accomodated because they know i wont say i am going in for a quick injection and then start discussing my leg cramps, ear itch etc.

Dr nayar is an excellent caring physician and i feel lucky to have her.

She's been my family doctor for quite a few years now but I can count the number of times I have seen her! I work and go to school fulltime. The last time I saw her was 2 years ago, after waiting for 45 minutes! Since I work and go to school full-time I finally was able to make an appointment and had quite a few things to discuss/share with her. After the first one she said that's it, I can only see you for one thing. To have waited for 45 minutes and then brushed off like that is so disrespectful! After that I have never wanted to go back. What if the second, third, was related to the first? What if what I wanted to talk to her about could have been preventable? Was I supposed to make another 2 appointments, and wait for 45 minutes each time? Everyone's time is valuable, but most of all what's important is you want your Family Doctor to care rather it be about the money! If you can't accept walk-in patients, take less! Doctors have chosen this profession for a reason! They have a fundamental responsibility to their patient. She needs to read the code of ethics!

I agree with most comments about the front staff. I find them very rude, not welcoming, always gossiping and VERY unprofessional. The front staff had also misfiled my PAP test and I had someone else's PAP results in my file. Dr. Nayar is okay, not very thorough unless you ask questions, then she usually knows the answer. I find it difficult to try and ask her more than one health concern. She is rushed as there usually is a line up of people in the waiting room for her.

Dr A Nayar is the best doctor I have ever had, she is kind & actually cares about her patients. I'm sorry to say, he staff (the girls at the front desk) are very inappropriate, rude & unprofessional. I'm surprised they have lasted there this long.

I have been a patient for more than 12 years. I have put with the unprofessional, rude and totally ignorant front office staff for a long time. Now it has got to a point where I feel sick just by the thought of making a call to the Office to make a appointment. I will give you one tiny little example: I called the Doctor Office to inform that am running late for a an appointment. Guess what the lady answered the phone and put me on hold and then the other lady comes on the phone after a good 5-8 minutes and rudely asks me to call back after 10-15 minutes. This is just the most polite complaint, there are other examples that are 100 times worse.
The staff has a 3rd World mentality and feel she is doing a favour to the patients, If not for the kind Doctor I would not even spit at the face of this illiterate, unhygienic and rude front office girls.
They do not know that words like professionalism, presentable, polite, etiquette , considerate, empathy etc. exist.
People please complain more promptly so the Doctor takes some action. I personally waited too long to complain
