Amazing Dr. Had him at children’s hospital when I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes over 22 years ago. Had seen him a few times over the years at different events and he’s always remembered me. Wonderful person with a great sense of humor with wonderful bedside manor. Made me and my mother very calm, happy and gave us the knowledge and honesty that was needed for a young women (14) and her mother at a hard time. He also gave all the information and support needed to flourish with Type 1. He not only gave me the information but the support and humor needed as well as recommended other young adults in a the same situation to speak to as well as well information around the diabetes camp that was offered in BC at the time.
He truly supports and appreciates his clients for who they are Individually.

There is no better, kinder, caring, and informative Doctor than Dr. Metzger. I had him from age 1 when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes to 18. I have never had a doctor like him since. He knows so much about you is so engaging with his patients. You feel like you are talking to a true friend when you are with him. He puts so much time into his work and volunteers so much more. I contribute my success in life and my success with my personal in large part to him. He truly goes to show how much impact a caring doctor can have in a child and family’s life if they are diagnosed with a juvenile disease.

I’ve had type 1 since I was 1 and am now 19, after 18+ you have to see a different doctor as he deals with children, for the 18+ years he was the best doctor ever!! So helpful and made the appt fun, always called me a princess cuz I got somewhat spoiled by my parents and he expected me to go a pink car lol. He doesn’t even compare to my new doctor, wish he dealt with adults !!! Miss you metzger!!-AM

Has been my kid's endo for Type 1 Diabetes since age 1 - that makes 12 years as of this rating. Very understanding, jovial and incredibly helpful. Dr. Dan was even struggling to be available to kids during his own personal medical challenges. Can't recommend him highly enough. Gold stars all day long.

Terrible bedside. We quit going to him as I found him putting us down. He put down our province we came from. My son was on GH and decided to go off because he gave me such anxiety. My son has pws and has never been over weight.

Dr Metzger has been a breath of fresh air for our family! This is a doctor that genuinely cares for his patients! He goes up and above!!!! This man not only understands the medical aspects of his profession, but he understands bedside manor! He engages and cares for the patient and the family!
Doctor Dan has been our daughter's doctor for about 15 years. My daughter came to him terrified of doctors because of deplorable bedside manor of other Children's Hospital doctors! He widdled away at her with genuine love, kindness, tenderness and joy and absolutely won her over! Dr Metzger has easily become one of our medical heros!
We are on our last year with Dr Metzger and feel absolutely honored that he was our daughter's doctor!!!!

horrible dr. He saw my daughter for prader will syndrome. When we asked about growth hormone for our daughter( a standard treatment in the states.)He laughed and said that there was no way we would ever get it in Canada. We got it from a different dr at children'.His staff is there on Fridays but not the woman who books appointments so if you want to book an appointment on a Friday you have to call back on a different way. we saw Dr. Metzger twice and then asked for another Dr. He was awful.
