Dr. Povolny has been my personal physician for several years and I find him to be very professional, thorough and patient-oriented. Always takes the time to explain my health issues and treatments. Answers all of my questions, and I ask a LOT. Not caught up in the huge money-maker hospital machine. No unnecessary tests and referrals. My kind of doctor.

Dr.Povolny has been my health partner for 11 years now and I am very happy with him. He helps me to make decisions about how to best treat my health concerns and gives me many suggestions to help me improve my health. I find him to be very knowledgeable and though. He always listens to my concerns and speaks with me in a respectful tone and explains all alliterative treatment to me so that we can make decisions together. I do and have recommended Dr. Povolny to many people.

Terrible bedside manner. Basically thinks after 5 minutes he knows better than you do what you are experiencing and how you feel.

Rude, argumentative,very dismissive - said my obsevrations of side effects were not true. Obviously not open to discussing my concens. Said "controlled studies" proved my observations wrong. I later found a controlled study supporting my observations. So not only is he rude, he is also uninformed.

Very dismissive of my thoughts. Yes, he may have the medical degree, but I have the thirty-five plus years with this body. He does not treat you as if you were a partner in your health; rather, he treats you as if you were a child to be scoffed at, scolded, and told what to do. When I returned with a concern about a perceived side-effect about the medication he prescribed, he dismissed my experience, claiming that, "that medication doesn't cause that." Then he UPPED my dosage! Well, according to my new doctor and many reports by patients on the same medication, it most certainly can cause that side effect. I switched to a different med, and the problem was relieved. Seriously, I would have to mentally prepare for any visit with him. I can't believe I continued to use him as my physician for so long. When I first met with the doctor I ultimately switched to, I felt as if I was seeing an escape from an abusive relationship. No hyperbole.

Dr Povolny is quick and thorough. He takes great care of my 91 year old father. Although, he is a bit too brief with explanations, he does listen to patient concerns, adjusting treatment to accommodate side effects.
