Horrible doctor, out of touch and told me that I had to be a more interesting person. I wasn't there to talk about my interests and hobbies and he did nothing to help with the problem I was facing which was harassment in the workplace

I saw Dr. Mitttler for twenty-five years. He was helpful during the first twenty years and the last
five set me back to where I started. I have a weight problem. During one visit , as I walked in, he said, 'well, I guess this will be your last appointment.' Shocked, I asked him why ?? He said 'because I was so fat that I wouldn't be able to fit through the door any more !' During my first appointment with him, he announced to me that 'He was very cerebral'. I was put me on large doses of medications (three) and he did monitor these well. To me he was 'a drug doctor'. Mind you, I did need these drugs and remain on them to date. Two of them cause you to gain weight, so stay away from doors when you're near this doctor. After seeing him for twenty-five years, during the last two visits, he informed me that I was EVIL !!!!! YES- EVIL !!!!. He told me to make an appointment for a year from then. When I called ten months later, *I was informed he had already retired. Thanks a lot Gerry, back to the psych ward I go...….

Very few people could claim to make a difference in my life, Dr. Gerald Miller would be one of them.

I came to him for help from early 2014 until his retirement in 2017. Dr. Mittler patiently listened to my story, tried to understand my personality, and provided me with useful guidance (I wish I could have done the same for him). Every meeting I had with him, I came out analyzing the why he said the things he say. And the deeper I thought about it, the closer I came to better understanding about my own upbringing and why I think the way I do.

Dr. Mittler was a good person who has unconditionally helped to turn my life around both psychologically and financially. Everyone I meet knows about him because I have told them about how I was before I met with Dr. Mittler and compare with who am now. It is the 1st time in my life I’m debt-free and successful.

Thank you Dr. Mittler for your kindness, for the guidance and for the warmth and humanity you have brought to my personality.

All the best in your retirement.

Colin

I came to know Dr. Mittler at the lowest part in my life. He was gentle, kind, and used humour in a way that made me smile days after our sessions. He gave me the tools to get through something unbearable. I am here today because of his enormous skill and heart.

I found this doctor has a passive aggressive personality style and does not like to be challenged, often becomes defensive or annoyed. He does not like to probe deeper into root causes of issues, as these conversations may be too heavy. As a result he can be sarcastic, not a great quality for a therapist.

I came to him in complete crisis mode and he gave me the tools I needed to work my way back from this. Words can never express how grateful I will forever be.

Found Dr. Mittler unwilling to listen to my experiences, more concerned with projecting onto me. He gave me a non-diagnosis that another doctor found near-negligent.

I found he did not listen to me enough to learn about me. He spoke 90% of our appointments and it was hard to get a word in. His advice came in the form of general mantras that did not seem particularly relevant or individualized. I also found him too forceful in making decisions about the direction of my treatment that I did not agree with. My time with him was frustrating and largely a waste.

He is probably the best doctor I've ever had in my life. He knows how to identify with my problems gives me solution. He's my life coach and everything that I've done has worked out with him. I recommend them to anyone.
