Nurses were extremely rude I went in because I fractured my ankle. They told me that I was a young mom which I know. Then she continued to ask me very personal questions “who’s your daughter with right now, is her dad active in her life, do you guys both have a stable income, do you guys have your own house” very personal and invasive questions. Also when I first got there I was in a wheelchair and no one came to help me while I was in a wheelchair and when I asked for help to be moved and the nurse scoffed. Very horrible experience 0/10 I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you absolutely have to. They need to sit down with the nurse and teach them how to be nice to people in pain and not be rude to patients. Every time I go there I have a horrible experience

I live in New Jersey, work EMS for a hospital here, my mother lives in Vernon B.C., Canada. She was admitted last night. I've called the person answering the phone probably 15 times today. Everytime I call the 7th floor, it rings 40 times then hangs up on me. After the 4th call, I asked her could a doctor call me? She said no!! We don't do that here! I can't transfer you to the 7th floor again or the complaints department. It's just cruel to put a family through this. My hospital, our patients and families come first. That phone never rings more than 5 times. It's a disgrace.

This hospital needs to have a review of medical ethics. Specifically the ER department and the psychiatric unit. The way some patients are treated here is cruel and unprofessional. The employees are either too scared to speak up or covering for one another’s dysfunctional work habits. Discrimination or abuse of any kind towards patients should not be tolerated. Hospitals should be safe places for people to seek medical CARE.

Great orthopaedic surgical team, but emergency department is a disaster. The latter includes staff that are unprofessional, uncaring and dare say lazy. Someone needs to look at that operation and clean house. If you need emergency care, get yourself to Kelowna or Salmon Arm if at all possible.

Easily one of the worst hospitals in BC. Their staff does not respect patient wishes regarding the administration of drugs. If a patient request that they DO NOT be given a certain substance due to a possible yet unconfirmed allergy, the staff at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital will give that patient a double-dose just to make sure. Even if that drug is an opioid that causes serious adverse reactions.

Just spent 3 days in vernon hospital, All things posted seem about right for a short term patient. My concern is that the medical profession EDUCATE themselves in a PRACTICAL manner and then educate the system in the proper installation of the half cast ( temporary) Specifically involving too much tensure pressure! In my case i removed the bandages off my arm and rebandaged the day after the surgery and immediately the pain went from moderate to only light discomfort . Swelling was never an issue ! Another experience,,, concerning my 5 yr old daughter, but this was in oliver hospital where the Dr. ignorantly formed a half cast too tight to her foot and i spent 3 days bending and cutting away portions of his mistake to relieve my daughters pain !

You can not be sure you will come out alive, even if you went in on your own. Small town attitude; mediocre doctors. If you really need hospital services and your life is important to you, rather go to Kelowna or Vancouver. If you are a gambler, is good to try Vernon hospital.
