after going to physical therapy 20 times, a physiatrist (not recommended), and even so far as trying chiropracty (also not recommended) for a few weeks, I asked an ER nurse friend with 30 years experience for a recommendation for a neuro-surgeon. She said Neill Wright, he's the best in St louis. My Primary agreed, the nurse and technician at my stress test both had surgery done by him or his partner, its very obvious he is the man. Met with Neill, evaluated my case, said I had 2 options.. live with pain, or surgery. I opted for surgery since I didnt want to be on disability. He put in an artificial disc C5/C6 a year ago. His entire team was extremely helpful as well as caring, I woke up after surgery with no nerve pain.. Dr Wright came in on saturday to check on me before I was discharged. It took about 6 months for the numbness to go away as he said it would. I can't say enough good things about him.. He was honest on the surgery outcomes, made it easy to schedule, his nurse practitioner, fellow, and other staff really made you feel comfortable. BJC West was a good hospital to have the work performed. Highly recommended, can't give him enough stars.

I had severe neck and shoulder pain for over a year. I had tried everything recommended by my pain management doctor with no relief. I am a RN and lead a very active life---but I was getting depressed with the continual discomfort and inability to do any activity without constant pain. I was referred to a local surgeon and was not pleased with his surgical plan or expected outcomes. I requested a referral in the St. Louis area by my pain management doctor and she sent me to Dr. Wright. I had surgery in November 2014( cervical discectomy C6-C-7) and cannot express how happy I am with the results. Dr. Wright is fantastic. He spent time and explained the surgical procedure to me and gave me options without pressuring me into an immediate decision. He is professional, courteous and honest when presenting a plan of care for surgery. Above all, he is an amazing surgeon. He gave me my life back! I work full time without pain and am able to once again live my active life style without pain or discomfort. I would highly recommend Dr. Wright---he is the best!!

Dr Neill Wright....I can't say enough about him..In May of 2014 I had to undergo cervical disc surgery and was referred to Dr Wright by my pain mngmnt doc.. before meeting with him I did a little research and felt confident he was the right Dr to perform this procedure, completely pain free/instant relief once I had awaken in recovery...fast forward..after years of lower back issues,as fate would have it I blew out my L4-L5 6months after my neck procedure..and now needed lower back surgery, needless to say I didn't hesitate contacting Dr Wright...Procedure performed Jan 2015 ...I went home that evening once again instant relief and back to work 8 days later. I was so impressed with the hospital staff and Dr Wright that after meeting him for my follow up, I told him that how thankful I am for the knowledge he has to repair my neck and back issues and for giving me my life back without pain. I am very active person and have a job that requires me to stand for a great portion of the day...Dr Wright took the time to listen and explain in detail each procedure and never once rushing me nor ignoring any of my concerns . He and the nurses/staff are true examples of caregivers . Several people in my line of work ask often "tell me again who your Dr is ?" And with pride I answer "The Best!!!! Dr Neill Wright"

Neill Wright is a fabulous surgeon. I interviewed 3 neurosurgeons about my back and leg issues. I had several complications and he was the only doctor who felt confident that he could handle my situation and that I would have excellent surgical results. He was absolutely correct! He did a great job fusing lumbar discs 2 thru 5 among other things and I am fabulous now. No nerve pain at all. Dr. Wright's manor with his patients is superb, calm ,caring and gentle. Yet he explains everything thoroughly. I had heard horror stories about the care at Barnes hospital, mine could NOT have been better. The nurses and doctors attending were absolutely wonderful, and took great care of me. Doctor Wrights office assistant Amy, was also wonderful I was very anxious before my surgery and Amy answered all of my questions and concerns.

Thank you for the review. I am sorry that you did not have a good experience in clinic. As this review is anonymous, I cannot contact you to discuss further, but I would be happy to discuss if you want to call my office. I am sorry that I was not able to help you. Unfortunately, not all spinal problems can be fixed with a surgery. Although you were disappointed, I would rather have you unhappy with me for not offering you a surgery than have you unhappy after having a surgery.

Did a very intricate back surgery and it was a complete success. He is kind and extremely smart. He took over 30 minutes explaining the procedure in detail which in helped me to approach the surgery unafraid. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Wright is an execellent neurosurgeon. He always welcomes my questions, and is very knowledgeable. He removed the tumor from my spine in Aug 2005, and I still see him on a yearly basis. He is fantastic!!!!

Dr. Wright spen a lot of time with me going over what was wrong and treatments available. He was very well versed in the most recent developments in back surgery. The opreation went very well, was minimaly invasive and I was back on my feet that day. I walked a mile the next day. It's now been seven weeks and I feel great!
