This is by far the worst doctor. His secretary is rude and does not return calls. It is like talking to a brick wall.

This doctor does not have any respect for his elderly patients. We have made numerous phone calls to his office to ask the doctor for some guidance about his elderly patient with Alzheimer's disease and none of these calls were returned - not a caring doctor.

he was awesome -the bad reviews don't even sound like the same doctor - we saw him when he was at providence a few years back - i hope it's the same doctor.

This doctor should learn some people skills before he treats anyone, communication was obivously not a skill he learned at medical school, How could I possibly rate this doctor fairly when he refuses to communicate with the family, he will not ansewer questions about my 90 year old fathers health ????????????????

This is hands down the worst experience of our lives! DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES to this office! Our lives were forever changed and they did not care! STILL not one phone call returned! HE uses his patients like guinea pigs to test new treatments.. but does he follow up with the patients where things have gone wrong??? No! 4 to 5 calls a day and never 1 returned! Not to us or our family doctor! I was told by the secretary that I was bothering them!!! REALLY! My father was a 7/10 when we went.... he is now a 2/10! Thank you for your incredible work Dr Giovanni Marotta! You have messed up not only this beautiful mans life forever.... but all his loved ones as well! Disgusting! You should be ashamed! Hands down the worst choice ever made to come see you! I hope you DO NOT get a doctor like yourself when you grow old! I can guarantee your family will have the same review for them when they go through what we are going through! Wish you well the same. Just Sad.

Dr. Marotta is a geriatric specialist who has a special interest in memory. If you can manage to get your elderly parent to him your life will be so much easier. He is Italian and of course undertands Italian culture and speaks in Italian. He works from his office on Keele Street in Toronto and out of the Geriatric Department at Sunnybrook hospital. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Marotta but I will try: he treats patients and caregivers with dignity and respect, he values even small improvements,of course he is a knowledgeable expert in his field, he never rushes, he is thorough, thoughtful and holistic.

I am surprised to read the reviews as I find Dr. Marotta to be an exceptional doctor. Extremely knowledgeble and very interested not only in the patient but in the caregiver's well being. Very patient, caring and does not rush you out of his office even when his waiting room is full. He is strongly committed to research and he is willing to try new treatments and keep you abreast of new research developments. I particularly liked his willingness to entertain treatments for my father that another doctor's had previously dismissed. I believe that had this treatment been started a year earlier with his former doctor, my father would have maintained a higher level of functioning for a longer period of time. Dr. Marotta is humble, compassionate and very respectful and empathic to the impact of an illness on the patient and also the family. He is adept at making one feel comfortable and understood. He injects reality without being harsh and while still creating an atmosphere of hope.
