Having been a nurse for over 35 years, I can honestly say Dr. Mike is the best of the best! He truly cares, is a wonderful diagnostician and his training in functional medicine has made him top in his field!!

Dr. Michael Schoenwalder has been my primary care physician for almost 7 years and he has always be available when I needed care. In fact, once I was suffering from pneumonia and had he not called to check up on me I could have possibly died due to bronchial spasms. He instructed to immediately go to an Urgent Care or the ER, which I did - there was a given a steroidal breathing treatment that put my lungs and well-being back on track. Thanks Doc.

Completely two-faced. Had seemed fine during routine check ups. Made the mistake of coming to him with concerns about abdominal pain. He was extremely rude and treated me like a moron for contacting him. After calmly describing my symptoms he responded with: “What do you want me to do about it? Go see a specialist!” Considering he my internist I expected to be given guidance and possibly a referral if necessary. He gave me neither. I know from experience where the positive reviews came from, but the way he spoke to me during our conversation bordered on abusive. We all have bad days, but I did nothing to provoke this behavior and it is unacceptable. I am switching to a different doctor.

I've gone to Dr. Mike for several years. The experience as always been awesome. He is very thoughtful, patient and ask all the necessary questions to get to the problem corrected. I appreciate that he respects my time keeps very close to the apt time. on the other hand, he does not jam his day so full that he cant spend all the time I NEED with him. The Doc's a gem!!

Just like most of the patients on this site, I am a HUGE fan. Dr. Schoenwalder is a remarkable physician whose knowledge, patience and understanding is by far the BEST I have experienced. He does not overbook or rush your visit, unlike most physicians he prefers to take your history orally vs you completing a 2-3 page packet with all of the requiste information. After my first visit I left his office jumping for joy just at the decorum alone, it was such a breath of fresh air and not to speak of the knowledge that I gained and subsequent visits have not disappointed.

This doctor is by far the best doctor in the Saint Louis, MO region! Words cannot truly describe this man, as he is incredible and any patient he has would surely agree with me! Also, I must add his memory is like none other, he remembers and takes into account my entire family's medical history when he is making a diagnosis regarding my health. The medical field would be a far better place if more doctors WERE him!
