In October of 2014 I had a Gastric Sleeve operation done by Dr Ravi Rao of Perth Surgical & Bariatrics I was 44yrs of age and very overweight and had type 2 diabetes; since the operation I have lost an amazing 43kgs and I feel so much better for it. I have not needed any Insulin since the day before the operation, off my blood pressure medication now down from 10mg and my other diabetes medication gone too. Dr Rao put together an amazing surgical team; they were both professional and caring and they all took absolute fantastic care of me during and after the procedure. The Nursing staff at the St John of God Mercy Hospital in Mt Lawley were again professional and caring and took great care of me post op and also Dr Teck Yew was fantastic in helping manage my diabetes pre and post op. Dr Rao walked me through the whole procedure step by step and put all of my worries at ease and along with his lovely practice manager Suchi made the whole process from start to finish as painless as possible and were available to answer all of my questions at short notice. So in closing I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Dr Rao, Suchi and all of the Medical and Surgical staff who made this such a pleasant and positive experience for me.

Ravi understood my needs and provided a faultless service in collusion with his specialised colleagues. I liked that he haws already passing on his experience to junior surgeons from around the world and they were all cool man.

Excellent Surgeon. Excellent care. Most importantly a gem of a person. I had a primary roux en y gastric bypass as I had obedity and bad reflux oesopgagitis. 2 days in hospital and discharged..just like that. Losing weight and feelin great. He is so approachable and accessible. A gem!

I had a band put in by a surgeon in Murdoch . It was causing me issues with not much weight loss. I then had it removed by a surgeon in Hollywood hospital and he said he has done all to prepare me for a sleeve. I went in to have the sleeve done by him 4 months later. When I woke up he told me the adhesions between the liver and stomach was too much and I could not have any operation as it is too dangerous. I was dissappointed but left it to my fate until I met another person who was told the same, but went to Dr Rao and had a successful procedure. I then met up with Dr Rao. He is so pleasant, passionate and upfront. He said that he was willing to give it a go, even acknowledging the other Surgeon may be right. This time I woke up , the procedure was done successfully. It took him 2 hours but I recovered very well and its been 1 month and I have lost 12 kgs already. To all those people who are unsure, my advice is check him out. You will not regret!

Dr Rao is not only a great surgeon but he is invested in his patients. I originally was going with a different surgeon but felt uneasy, I saw Dr Rao and felt completely at ease. I didn't feel like a number, I had the full support of Dr Rao and his team. Also Suchi his receptionist is lovely, very helpful.

I could not recommend dr Ravi rao enough. I made the decision to have the sleeve done based on reviews I had seen. He was extremely thorough and informative while treating me like a person not just another statistic. Ravi made it clear it was a team effort and he was going to help me succeed. suchi his lovely wife has always been prompt and thorough when responding to messages or returning calls and is a fantastic friendly face when you walk in the clinic. All nerves disappeared as soon as I got there as they both just made me feel relaxed about my decision.

I would highly recommend this practise .. I have found Dr Ravi Rao both professional and personable. He ensures that you full understand what is being undertaking before proceeding. With Suchi assisting him as the first contact point to PSB you are made to feel welcome and at ease. It is essential that this occurs as you are making a life changing decision. Ravi won't settle for anything less than a 100% success rate. He has all the tools in place to ensure you reach your target weight. I am inspired by his passion and dedication to his chosen profession .

If you looking to having your gastric sleeve done I would highly recommend Dr Ravi Rao. He has not only done my surgery but my husband and daughters surgery as well. I would trust him without a doubt. He is straight up, honest and is caring and compassionate about what he does. He has given us a chance to change the direction of bad habits and encourages positive habits but ultimately the choice is ours.
