Biography
Dr. Vasilios Kountis is a board-certified, skilled spine specialist as well as a pain management specialist serving New York City. He obtained his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He then advanced his subspecialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, from the University of Minnesota to advanced endoscopic spine training through Richard WOLF specializing in endoscopic discectomy and facet rhizotomy. Dr. Kountis is the founder of Anagenesis Spine and Pain Medicine and is affiliated with New York University Elaine A. and Kenneth G. Langone Medical Center, and the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in New York, NY. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the North American Spine Society, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Patients see him for a variety of reasons, including spine deformation/scoliosis, spinal arthritis, sciatica, herniated disk, spondylosis, and vertebroplasty. Because he is bilingual in English and Greek, patients from a variety of backgrounds enjoy having him as their physician. Dr. Kountis gives each patient his focused attention, and he prides himself on delivering the best treatment available.
