Had a filling done - hurt more afterwards! He was 40 minutes late and even the assistant was commenting how late he was. My understanding was he was doing two fillings on the same tooth, but afterwards he told me to make another appointment because he only did one! Why split them up? I was just numbed up! I tried to get a copy of my dental records and the clinic tried to dissuade me at every turn, gave me incomplete copies, suggested I wasn't allowed to ask for them, didn't return calls, and insinuated that I should go to another practice. When I finally got them, they are essentially blank with no notes. Not the first time I didn't get what I expected there - and their receipts are impossible to read - two other times they were charging for "three sided" cavities when they certainly didn't tell me that - therefor more money! Avoid Life Dental in New West.

Costly unnecessary procedures. More concerned about money than dental care. I would not recommend him to a friend. On my first appointment I talked with him about my concerns/fears about dentists. On my third vist he threw them concerns out the window. He is not concerned about your dental health he is concerned about your wallet.

I love Dr. Toews! My past experiences at the dentist have not been stellar, but every time I go see him I leave happy! Staff are polite, appointment was on time, and he was very gentle.

I tried Dr. Towes of Life Dental as a new dentist in 2017 as I had recently moved to New Westminster.

He changed five fillings of mine.

The work wasn't very well done, and I had to go back for re-polishing. Even worse, it seems the fastener for the rubber dam he put in actually scratched one of my other teeth.

After the fillings were changed, I experienced ongoing pain in two of the teeth. Not confident that he could fix it due to the lack of professionalism in the way the work was originally done, I decided not to take a chance, and found another dentist who had to re-do two of the fillings. Once the fillings were re-done by the other dentist, the pain went away immediately.

His reception staff wasn't pleasant and they would not agree to charge the set rate from my insurance company, instead charging me more out of pocket. I've never experienced that at any other dentist.

Not recommended.

Dr Toews is the best dentist I have ever seen. Although I havent been back for a cleaning in awhile, he is the reason I broke free from my Dentist chair fears! He is patient and friendly and has a great sense of humour! Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a cheery and professional dentist!

Let me put it this way, I just had the most glorious sandwich and it had little to do with the sandwich. Dr. Toews and his team made it possible for me to get work I had put off for years. I was treated with professionalism and respect at every turn. Dr. Toews clearly has kept up with and studied the latest in current practices and was able to explain clearly every stop of the way.

Dr Toews is great! I’ve never liked going to the dentist but he makes it much easier. His staff are wonderful and the clinic is really beautiful and modern. I’ll be recommending him to everyone I know.
