Biography
Nelly Rivera-Ortiz, M.D., received her Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico in Cayey, Puerto Rico. She went on to receive her medical degree, with honors, at the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Her OB/GYN residency training was at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campus in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she was Chief Resident. Dr. Rivera-Ortiz joined Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology of Lake County in 2019. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Rivera-Ortiz is bilingual and will communicate with patients in both English and Spanish. In her spare time, Dr. Rivera-Ortiz enjoys photography and reading.
