At 69, with 10 surgeries under my belt, you could say I have become an expert with pain. I’ve got osteoarthritis throughout my body. Is spite of this I am very active, I work out regularly and never stop moving in yard work and outside activities. I’ve learned that you don’t have to endure pain. Dr. Marc Yelle and Carolina Pain and Spine identify the source of my pain when it crops up. Dr Yelle has been a great reason why I’m still going strong. He is patient, expert and resourceful to alleviate pain. By all means, don’t endure pain! Make an appointment and let these folks improve your quality of life today!

I am permanently in pain post injections in my back for post herpetic neuropathy. I endured the most excruciating pain during the injections without acknowledging he made a mistake.

Dr Marc Yelle is one of the best Drs I have been to in my life. I have had many surgeries over the years , Thus numerous physicians, lab techs, physical therapists, surgeons, etc. DrYelle cares more about his patients, than any MD around. He actively listens to your concerns, takes the time to explain what is happening, and shows a genuine compassion for his patients. He had to do injections in my spine as well as oversee my pain management following an extensive back surgery. He is the most kind, concerned, knowledgeable Ph.D. I have ever met and I recommend you choose him to see.

DONT'T STOP READING THIS REVIEW TILL YOU HAVE REACHED THE VERY HAPPY ENDING!!! HOPE FOR A GREATER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR MY MOTHER WITH DR. YELLE! That is what Dr. Yelle has given to my mom who was in the hospital with severe intestinal pain after eating when no other doctor on her case could. After the surgeon advised us that surgery was not an option (one even said pain management was not a viable option!!), in walked Dr. Yelle....correction - Dr. Hope! One look and I could tell this man was different.

He was kind, soft spoken, patient, with every word thoughtfully chosen before he spoke to my mother and me. As far as bedside manners go Dr. Yelle gets an outstanding 5 star rating. My mom calls him a Teddy Bear. While he agreed with the other doctor on some points he didn't on others and offered some pain management options. Amazingly Mom is 84 years old and determined to live as long as she has a good quality of life. That is exactly what Dr. Yelle told her she could have with some amazing medicine he prescribed for her. He told her as gently as possible that while surgery was not a viable option for her medical issues, there were medicines available to her that could help manage her pain, which on a pain scale of 10 being the highest, Mom's was a definite 10.The intestinal pain she was experiencing was worse than any other pain she had ever encountered.

After taking Dr. Yelle's prescription she is absolutely pain free. Eating without that severe pain that followed, but most importantly she has a great quality of life! She has even gained a couple of pounds. Dr. Yelle was very realistic about what her condition meant in terms of what she could expect for the future. When the pain medicine stopped taking effect then other medicines and measures including wonderful human beings much like himself would be there to help manage her pain. Mom sees him on an outpatient basis now. Throughout it all, he has been caring, supportive but most of all, human in his manner with my mother. My mother literally was filled with hope when he finished speaking with us. The medicine is working, my mother is pain free, eating and enjoying life!

Let this be your take away from our experience, Make Dr. Yelle your Pain Management Doctor. His staff is wonderful and he is a great at what he does. 5 stars across the board for each rating ...plus 5 stars for being a really nice guy!

My mother had sudden severe back pain that took over a month to diagnose. After finally getting an MRI, she was referred to Dr. Yelle who was very compassionate about the level of pain she was experiencing. He thoroughly explained the diagnosis of sacral insufficiency fractures in her lower spine and options available. Surgery was scheduled promptly and Dr. Yelle was amazing! He is easy to talk to and has a wonderful bedside manner - even when the patient is in severe pain and is a little (or a lot) grumpy. We highly recommend Dr. Yelle for pain management!

June/July 2018 - My mother came to town visiting from another state and had 4 fractured discs in her spine and in immense pain. She was unable to take pain meds and we were referred to Dr. Marc Yelle. He was able to perform 2 successful Kyphoplasty surgeries and my mom has her life back. Dr. Marc Yelle was extremely compassionate and patient with our 83 year old mother. Anyone that has legitimate reasons for needing a Pain Specialist, Board Certified physician should see Dr. Marc Yelle. HIGHLY recommend for his professionalism, intellect and ability to calm and listen to someone that is in immense pain and elderly. Thank you Dr. Yelle.

I think Dr. Marc D. Yelle, M.D, Ph.D. is a wonderful Physician; he is so pleasant and competent.

For weeks, I had multiple visits to a large Orthopaedic practice in Raleigh without any progress in treating my severe lower back pain. Finally, they referred me to Rex Pain Management Center. After the initial visit to Rex Pain Management Center for a consultation with their Physician Assistant, Dr. Yelle was chosen for treatment of my fractured Sacrum. Dr. Yelle took about 30-45 minutes to explain the fracture, location and treatment alternatives. He was empathetic to my prior weeks of severe pain ultimately requiring the use Opioids for relief when discussing possible courses of action. He explained a natural healing was a possibility (but due to the location and daily physical stress, a complete, permanent healing was uncertain) or a permanent solution which was Sacroplasty (an out-patient procedure that sealed the fracture with medical "cement"). I decided to have the Sacroplasty procedure; it was scheduled quickly. I had the Sacroplasty and I am now very satisfied with the results; I no longer need pain medications.

Dr. Yelle is a Neurologist and Pain Management Specialist; I highly recommend him because of his patient empathy, his very professional explanation of treatment options and his medical credentials/skill enable him to perform the appropriate medical procedure.
