Your N95 mask doesn’t work with your beard, you hypocrite. I went to you for help and I got a lecture on masks that you failed. You did NOTHING but waste my time. You traded a hippocratic oath for hypocrisy. You’re not a doctor, you’re a groomer.

This doctor is a man who takes his job seriously. He keeps things professional and that is probably why some can see him as less than pleasant. I had a great visit with him and the other person doing the EMG Nerve Test. He seems very knowledgeable and I am happy that he was able to reassure me that my condition, at least at this point, is not something that needs surgery. Eventually, maybe, but not now. This was backed up from him looking at my MRI so it wasn't just a guess. Give him a chance.

Dr was on time, dude who checked me in and performed my test was very kind as well. I can see how people can say Dr Shirkool is impatient or rude, but he just runs a tight ship is all. He values his own time, doesn’t like to waste it. I had an issue as I mistakenly brought an old health card, although I endured some grilling and bit my tongue as I wasn’t thrilled about it either, by the end he had figured out the proper ending to my health card and all was well. I can’t blame this guy- it’s on us to bring proper health card and he needs to get paid too. Anyway, paper work aside, he was pretty easy to talk to, listened to my concerns, did his tests then sent me off to the room to get shocked. The older gent performing the test put me at ease, he was very kind and made me laugh a lot. Once I got back to get my results from the Dr, I’m assuming he got ahold of my family dr to sort out the health card issue. I really appreciated him taking the time to do that, it’s really not his job to but I appreciated it nonetheless. He explained the steps related to my health issue, and I felt confident that he was right and he did basically all he could do. I know what my next steps are and I feel confident that I will be okay.

I guess my only advice would be exercising patience, an ability to get along and move forward, and hope you get that kind older gent to complete your tests. Dr Shirkool is a decent guy, he’s easy to talk to, but you must exercise respect and decency, and ensure your own ducks are in order as well. If he’s reading this right now- thank you and thank you to your assistant. You made my first specialist appointment a breeze!

Dr. Shirkool rejected a diagnosis and said he couldn't help any further. He didn't refer us to another neurologist and we couldn't get another neurologist to review the file for another three years despite a great amount of effort. Dr. Shirkool's dismissiveness cost our family three years of distress, disruption and pain until we finally located another neurologist who gave an immediate diagnosis. Thankfully we are now in good hands.

Knowledge is too narrow for a general neurologist. He was pleasant enough but his knowledge base was way to narrow especially for dealing with co-morbid diagnosis. Certain basic knowledge facts he was definitively wrong about .

I went to see him for a second opinion. I watched him clip through my mri scans like he was flipping through a boring photo album on Facebook. He spent a fraction of a second on each frame. I am unvaccinated, he treated me different because of it. When came time to examining my mouth he stood an exaggerated 5ft away. Called the ombudsman
